Not so sure about that, Facts...
If the plane taxiing had made his move onto the runway a few seconds later than shown, there could have been a disaster. What speed was the incoming plane doing?... around 180mph? Doesn't take long to cover half a mile imo. I suppose the incoming pilot could see the plane on the ground in position and assumed he would stop and wait for clearance, but had to take action when he saw the plane travel onto the runway. |

Certainly not an over reaction by the incoming pilot. Agree it probably was not as close to a disaster as some suggest as the plane would have been out the way in time but nevertheless the incoming plane did the right thing. I'm sure it's not normal to see a plane half a mile away crawling over the runway when your literally seconds from landing.
