For me the beeb just shades it, despite lineker, hansen & shearer who all make for very dull viewing; I do however enjoy watching the chapman/murphy/savage combo who bring a bit of light relief with genuine level 3 banter imo.

Where itv scores in a big way is in the on screen graphics department - the top left hand scoreline, while quite large, is clean and elegant compared with the beeb's clunky effort which seems to be some kind of throwback to the 90s. Likewise with the central banner - iv's has a nice curve on it, while the poor old beeb for some reason has squashed up the national flags at either end so they look all wrong  Sad

bbc were shocking in the brazil match, hansen, lineker, shearer all gushing about a completely bog average game, they must have been given a script impossible for the whole panel to be that wrong about a game

Prefer the Beeb coverage on the whole except when Jonathan Pearce is the commentator, but like the ITV theme music better.

the BBC but the best coverage has been 5 live

Most surprisingly good pundit = Rio Ferdinand.

But really the BBC has succumbed to what is traditionally the ITV fault of having too many guest pundits.

if it wasn't for the delay on my tv being far worse than the radio I would be tempted to have sound down but with 5 live commentary.

Agree with this.  It's like they've got carried away with the carnival atmosphere of their month long all expenses paid jolly.  The punditry equivalent of beer googles imo.

I think itv shades it with some decent pundits - vieira, o'neill, strachen - but you can't get away from the fact the breaks are disruptive, losing 8 minutes from half time and just before and after kick off.

Don't like their in match score graphic though.  No need at all for the flags.

Yes I much prefer the colours of the shirts that the BBC use for the score rather than the ITV flags. Much clearer at a glance which team is which.
