Call Me A Cab - is someone like Claire Sweeney really THAT bad to listen to?
As a Scouser, even I find many of them seriously grating but the normal-ish ones actually enhance the 'experience' ![]() I must add that I'm embarrassed when I hear the likes of Chrissy Rock...I've NEVER spoken to any Scouser that sounds like that! There's an interesting German word I learnt recently which sums that concept up quite nicely...fremdscham - check it out guys ![]() |

From the replies it seems its those South Eastenders who dislike the sound of anyone from North of the Watford gap.
The Royals & ass...ociated aristiocrats always sound like they have something long hard and vibrating permanently stuffed up their arse. Penelope Keith. Then there's those bloody bellenders, Shane Ritchie, Kat, Phil & his bwuvver Gwant & their muwvver Peggy. Do people really talk like that? |
|
By:
NL - I would've imagined you sounded like a rather tiresome Northerner but as this has now turned into a North/South thing, it seems we're in the same camp

No actually I sound accentless, as I went all over the world as a kid with dad in the RAF so I never developed an accent.

Anyone bother checking out 'fremdscham'?
I think it's a great word and it looks a bit like friend/shame which is virtually what it means. Are you all as thick as shít on here? ![]() |

Lester Piggott always sounded like he had a mouthful of marbles. No wonder he was never offered a TV pundits job. Neither will Wayne Rooney.
|
|
By:
Lester spoke like that because he was partly deaf.
Which was rather handy because if he wasn't he would have had a terrible inferiority complex.. |
|

On that score its surprising Alan Hanson was. Its not so mush his accent but annoying cliche's - "Schoolboy Errors". "On his left peg". etc.
