Happened about a month ago, and although some of the the footage was too gruesome to be shown, this fifty one year old man was minding his own business when punched unconscious and had his watch and mobile phone taken off him....while being stamped and kicked on. Far too much of this going on and I personally can think of only one punishment for these cretins.

Twenty years hard labour, or off to North Korea. They can choose....

A million years driving ban and the death penalty for me, to run concurrently.

just confiscate any useful organs and we'll call it quits, odds are the taxpayer paid for them anyway so it's more of a repo job than a reparation job imo

A firing squad would be in order, I'd quite happily do the job myself. Filthy animals like that don't deserve to breathe.

It was a case of mistaken identity so it seems. They thought the bloke was the writer of Citizen Khan.

I think he's recovering reasonably well from the attack physically, but after taking advice he will not view the attack due to being traumatised very badly by the whole ordeal. And who could blame him.

Nah, she has now deleted me from Twitter and facebook so it looks like it's a non runner. I'm going to start stalking The Hotel Inspector Alex Polizzi now instead. Wish me luck with that project.

Back to the topic, sickening random violence like that makes all of us distressed. I wasn't joking either about the firing squad, vermin like that should be despatched with immediate effect.

12 cars drove past with headlights on, and nobody did a thing.

Car number 8 pulled into the street opposite, and waited for them to walk away.

Automatic prison sentences for violent offences would make our streets safer. Even if it's only a month. Double the sentence for every conviction. Don't give me that prisons are full nonsense just build some more. The vast majority of people in this country are I believe law abiding citizens who would happily pay a little more tax if it kept these lowlifes off our streets.

I wish we had the death sentance in this country, they could people to carry out the final act, to strap them in the electric chair, to push the button, be one of firing squad, to stone them to death, to beat them to death.

Instead of locking them up wasting tax money, why not kill the bar stewards and make money in the process, no brainer a the yanks say.

I think Slippy has it spot on with this one as opposed to my Death by Dog solution. I said this out of pure rage after watching the incident, and it would be better to dispatch with them quickly rather than stoop to their barbaric ways. I'm quite sure he means it when he says he would happily do the job himself, however, I would prefer if we each had a rifle and we could both carry out the task simultaneously with two bullets to the chest each. (I would have to be able to pick the one who did the stamping on the head)

Sorry to put a dampener on things, but if you're going to execute these coonts, how would you punish an actual murderer? As it stands, your proposals would remove any incentive for them not to go all the way and kill their victims, and let's face it they would be more than capable of it.

I'm not defending them in any way, incidentally, but maybe to have the same treatment inflicted on them might be more appropriate.

we should start by making them do their actual sentence, life should be life, ten years should be ten years not 3 years with good behaviour,if you cause trouble inside your sentence goes up

In exactly the same way. As I would a paedophile who rapes a young child instead of trying to rehabilitate him. It's my belief the punishment should fit the crime, and in this case, if the death penalty was carried out it would prevent the two cretins from carrying out the same despicable crime again. And the chances of that are 1.01. (nap)

Misterbadger thinks they would be making a carefully considered decision to only go so far but not to kill - so they would only fail life in jail rather than a death sentence?

Yes. Put up a £100,000 reward out of the public purse. Even their closest cronies couldn't resist.

Need to keep it in perspective, these sort of incidents are quite uncommon.

I remember in the nineties a retired gent was followed from a pub and assaulted by two guys. One jumped on his chest and killed him. All because they had seen him wearing a Kruggerand ring and wanted it to sell to buy more booze. It happened just a few hundred yards from were I happened to be living at the time.

It turned out the two guys had been model soldiers, but had fallen on hard times since leaving the Army and said they only intended to rob him, but he had resisted and in a drunken state things had got out of hand and they were very ashamed.

So incidents of this nature have always taken place and going back to the days when you could be hung for simply stealing, severe punishment did not stop it. Indeed often at public hangings of thieves, there would be pickpockets going through the crowd.
