Is this more trouble than it's worth or is it easy enough to wire up Confused

also how do they fix to the ceiling , do i have to drill at all & screw them in , as don't want to make a mess if i ever want to take them down again Sad

I'm tempted to play safe & just buy the cheaper easy fit over shades but would like some fancy ones fitted in the living / kitchen areas Cool

Easy enough.

The biggest problem is that you really need to pull up the floorboards above the room where you want to fit the new lights.

If they are recessed lights, then you just drill a hole for the size of the light and they clip in.

I guess you mean lights like these and you want a few spread over the ceiling.

Not sure what you mean by the plastic thingy, basically you have a ceiling, you get a template with you new lights, who purchase a holesaw for that size and drill into the ceiling where you want the lights.

I see, easy peasy then. Screwfix is good and cheap but wont do fancy lights.

To fix them to the ceiling you need these.

just re-use the holes from the screws that will be left when you take the existing fitting down. They should go into the joist. Give the bracket a good tug when you've screwed it to the ceiling to ensure you've got the joist.

No need for drilling or spit drivers usually.

Cheers guys
If it's simple enough i'll buy them , just wanted to check first before i get stuck with more junk that i'll never use & can't be bothered to sell either , but seems easy enough , just a bit baffling looking at them all when i haven't got a clue how to fit them !

Plus i can always take them with me if i leave that's why i don't wana drill loadsa holes .. everybody else seems to .. after he said he'd leave them Mischief
