i tried to replace faulty towel rail yes
DISASTER |
|

Easy enough.
The biggest problem is that you really need to pull up the floorboards above the room where you want to fit the new lights. If they are recessed lights, then you just drill a hole for the size of the light and they clip in. |

Pull up the Floorboards
![]() Bloomin Heck i live in a flat , but luckily i do own the loft above ! |
|
By:
much easier then
|
|
By:
Where do i drill this hole that they clip into though , the ceiling or the plastic surround thingy
![]() I know it's doable enough , the guy before had lights up but took them with him when he left ![]() |
|

I guess you mean lights like these and you want a few spread over the ceiling.
. http://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/downlights/cat840836 Not sure what you mean by the plastic thingy, basically you have a ceiling, you get a template with you new lights, who purchase a holesaw for that size and drill into the ceiling where you want the lights. |

I don't really wanna start Drilling my ceiling
I just wanna put a few things like this up http://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/ceiling-spotlights/cat840842 |

I see, easy peasy then. Screwfix is good and cheap but wont do fancy lights.
To fix them to the ceiling you need these. . http://www.screwfix.com/p/spit-driva-tp12-panhead-metal-35mm-pack-of-100/11923 job done. |

I'm not good with drills .... and hammers ... and wires .... and ceilings
Something will end up getting smashed ![]() |
|
By:
just re-use the holes from the screws that will be left when you take the existing fitting down. They should go into the joist. Give the bracket a good tug when you've screwed it to the ceiling to ensure you've got the joist.
No need for drilling or spit drivers usually. |

Cheers guys
If it's simple enough i'll buy them , just wanted to check first before i get stuck with more junk that i'll never use & can't be bothered to sell either , but seems easy enough , just a bit baffling looking at them all when i haven't got a clue how to fit them ! Plus i can always take them with me if i leave that's why i don't wana drill loadsa holes .. everybody else seems to .. after he said he'd leave them ![]() |
