We bought a tablet from Argos and now apparently it has been "used" by two other people according to our security provider. We have obtained proof of this, but am unsure who to contact next?

I wouldn't bother talking to Argos to arrange a refund or replacement, they'll just try to fob you off. Go straight to the police.
