2 that come to mind are:
Damp Squid - instead of Damp Squib (which is a small explosive or firework)
Chomping at the Bit - rather than Champing.

Also - the worst spelling mistake I ever saw.....
Sent to me by an Employment Agent a few years ago when writing the job description...
Ofey (instead of Au Fait).
He had a fecking job and I didn't!!!!!

You could find a million examples on here of folk referring to a bet as a "shoe in".
Also a couple of foody ones, Holland day sauce and cold slaw.

I also laughed today reading another forum when a woman disagreed with a guy and he called her an uneducated lesbain.

Loose instead of lose seems to be the most common one I see.

Oh, and a kid at college was reading a passage from a book out loud and pronounced it as
A rabs instead of Arabs LaughLaugh

pretty much every black person Ive ever met or even heard on tv says 'ahhks' instead of ask. It's really weird.

I asked a black girl i worked with once why she says it and she said she didnt, then about a minute later she said it again. I pointed it out to her and she look really confused as if she was going mental!

Obviously someone will call me racist but its just a really bizarre fact and I have never understood it.

'To gild the lily' has become accepted as a phrase in English. Originally it was a misquote from Shakespeare:
'To gild refined gold, to paint the lily'.
Maybe one day some of the mistakes mentioned above won't be mistakes any more.

Plural's with apostrophe's get on my wires.

And 'spitting feathers' seems to be a phrase that is changing its meaning over current generations.
Above a certain age it means thirsty, below that age it means angry.

Everyone gets this wrong...

Reiterate.

They should use "iterate", which means to repeat.

Reiterate means to repeat again. The "re" is totally superfluous.
