The latest forum competition, this time it’s for the OPEN: PLEASE ENTER ON THIS THREAD
If you’ve already entered, there’s no need to do so again. Section C is now amended. So it’s now more obvious what I intended. It’s the number of PLAYERS, NOT the number of PAIRS. If you want to change your original Section C pick, this is OK, I will be able to amend it, no need to resubmit your whole entry.
This is how it works: There are 12 sections You have to pick 1 player or number (depending on which section) for each one. The scores for each selection are listed below. Just put the letters A to L with your choice for each - preferably going downwards, followed by a tie-break answer.
There WILL now be some sort of prize, the details of which I’ll post on the 1st update thread after day 1.
In the event of a tie (1st place only), a tiebreak will come into effect so there will be an absolute winner.
The Sections:and some details/clues/history
A. How many will Thorbjorn Olesen score in Round 1 (His 2 previous 1st round scores have been; 69 & 73) 3 points for exact, 1 point if 1 out Par is 71
B. Day 1 Leader: Name the player who will lead the Open at the end of the 1st round. 6 points for the leader, 4 points for whoever's in 2nd, 2 points for being in 3rd. You may need to look at the full list of players (outright winner betting page will do) to pick your selection.
C. How many of these players will make the cut?: from the 22 on this list. Only 70 players (+ties) make the cut. 4 points for being right, 2 points if you’re 1 away, 1 point if you're two out. A number between 0 and 22 for this section. These 22: S. Brown, M. Brown, A. Cabrera, R. Cabrera-Bello, T. Clark, D. Clarke, D. Johnson, Z. Johnson, L. Donald, J Donaldson, KT Kim, HS Kim, P. Lawrie, S. Lowry, R. McIlroy, R. McEvoy, D. Maruyama, H. Matsuyama, B. Watson, T. Watson, C. Wood, T. Woods

E. How many of these 20 will be in the Top 20 (and ties) at the end of Round 3 4 points for exact, 2 for being out by 1, 1 point if 2 out. Choose a number (again, imo) between 268 and 290.
TIEBREAK : Which of these players will finish highest in the Open? Simple as that. Choose one of these 6: Aphibarnrat, Huh, Wiratchant, Blixt, Yang, Goya If they all miss the cut, the best score for 2 rounds will still count.
Other stuff E&OE - If there's a player missing from any of the sections as I've listed them (I don't think I've missed anyone), he will be ignored for scoring purposes. Any ties in any sections, points shared; (eg, if the score is 2 points for 3rd, 1 point for 4th, and there's a tie for 3rd, both will score 1.5) Please put initials with any ambiguous selections (eg. There are 2 Watsons, 2 Johnsons, Clarke/Clark) any doubt about a selection for a section will score ZERO for that section regardless of the intention. The organiser's (that's me) decision is final. I'll try to update scores and standings at the end of each day's play. Entries accepted until 12.00 Midnight, Wednesday 17th July. Good Luck everybody and enjoy the golf.

I had a 3 ball double and treble today, they were both in my bets!
Oosthuizen was my only outright bet too. I think I will wait for the cut before I pick another.

The powers that be do not know how to set-up a golf course for a major comp. They are destroying golf! Also there has been nobody at the BBC who understands the problem.

Actually, treble. You scored 15.2 without picking a winning score - so you got zero for that section. Just imagine, if you'd put 281 instead of nothing, you'd have been the competition winner.
