The mirror did a hatchet job on them in the week, considering it is a labour paper i thought they would like all this UKIP stuff as they will take more votes from the tories than from Labour. I do wonder if they will get official support from either the sun or the mail. Last time i looked they were considered unlikely to get a single seat at the general election which surprised me. Lib dems have, not fairlly imo, lost loads of support in the last three years. If we had proportional representation then UKIP could be a real power.

Immigration and The EU are the biggest issues facing this country. If they think giving people a 2p in the pound pay rise and petrol going down 1p a litre are vote winners,
then they are totally out of touch... Ban immigration for the immediate future, all people seeking asylum are sent back to there country to await their appeal..and pulling out of the EU, So we can send back the hate preachers without any parasite human rights lawyer earning millions out of it..are vote winners for me...(And many others by all accounts) |

Immigration - meh.
It's the ceding of democracy to yet another tier of buerocracy in Brussels that boils my p1ss. We have incredible drive and talent and get up and go for the most part in this country and have done more than perfectly well working within an economic union (but no more than that) with Europe for years. Time for a bit of belief in our own democratic process and abilities |

One thingthe. EU has going for it is that it is preferable to wold war. Dont know much else tbh, though i suspect the media dont give us the full story.
Nigel Farage seems like a total coont though, i dont like ortrust him and wouldtdream of voting for him. |

No disrespect but that image you have portrayed was the one falsely sold to the British people in 1975 on the backs of liars like Heath. It was always known by the eurofanatics where the bus was going. They just didn't let the passengers know. For example the European Communities Act in 1972 expressly gave power to European Law to be more improtant than out own and where there was a conflict between the two then European Law would always win. |

That's your prerogative to think that the EU has presented another world war but in my view this totally overlooks the fact of MAD which nuclear weapons guarantee. Once they were invented that was the game changer. |

Idont even knowwhat MAD is.

I'm a Libertarian (think Ron Paul and Austrian Economics) and have no time for any of the political parties on offer in Scotland, where UKIP have no presence. If I was made to vote, it would probably be for the SNP because I think Independence brings Scotland one step closer to a smaller, more-federal style government.
That said, if I lived in England I would probably cast my ballot for UKIP (who aren't really a Libertarian party) but would represent my views more closely than any other party ever will in this Socialist land. |

what made me laugh about the eu is that they fined britain because had exceeded acceptable levels of pollution, britain has an 8 billion net spend on europe and give 11.3 billion in foreign aid, and have to put up with being fined

Not sure exactly what point you're making here EO? I like the idea of trade with Europe, in fact I like the idea of trade with the whole world - it encourages lithe, streamlined entreprenurial ability, without unecessary paperwork. It's any kind of political integration and the loss of any power from Britain and its voters that I'm against. Re immigration, if capital can cross boundaries why not labour? Okay, it's not that simplistic - capital has no national allegencies and doesn't have to integrate socially, but it's a decent starting point. |

BNP are left of centre but that doesnt suit the media who love to rant about the extreme right. Just look at their policies and its quite clear.

Of course they are left wing. That's why people who say UKIP are "posh BNP" are talking garbage. |
|
By:
I think that we should just agree that UKIP are the posh flavour of BNP and leave it at that.

Wtf is left and right wing? I agree with certain policies that are traditionally associated with both of these factions. But I dont think that qualifies me as a centralist either. Has always seemed to me that many people align themselves to one or the other at some point and then unthinkingly agree with the party line forever onwards. Which seems a waste, because if people werent like that the papers and the politicians wouldnt get away with much that they do get away with.

UKIP leader ‘Nigel Farage’ is a fictional parody of a raving idiot, it has emerged.
The hair is a wig Farage’s real identity is that of alternative comedian Wayne Hayes, who began performing the character of right-wing buffoon Nigel Twatley Farrago O’Drivel in 1986. After years of struggle on the stand-up circuit, Hayes as the now-refined ‘Nigel Farage’ was booked for a function at the Dorchester Conservative Club. But instead of laughing at his foghorn-voiced bletherings, the audience responded with thunderous applause. Hayes said: “My agent recommended I join UKIP as a stunt. So I went along to their conference and did my turn. “I thought I’d really ratchet up the nonsense – ‘We, the roast beef of England will not be dictated to by Brussels sprouts.’ They lapped it up.” After a lucrative run of gigs, Hayes decided it was time to kill off Nigel Farage and staged a plane crash. However, such was the outpouring of concern that he felt obliged to have the character recover with minor injuries. Hayes said: “I feel a responsibility to my thousands of fans. Plus, I don’t know what they might do if they found out ‘Nigel Farage’ was a spoof – beat me to death with a garden hoe, or something. They’re all completely insane. “Now I’m on Question Time nearly every month. It’s more regular than stand up plus they give you wine and sandwiches. “But as a comedian, it hurts me that no one’s laughing at my material. Seriously, you’re meant to laugh. |

They seem to have about seventy seats out of a totalof 1200. That doesnt seem fair given their vote percentage and the number of seats the others have got.

HOUNDOG2. I agree with you entirely, the genuine Brits have had enough now, the tide is turning, close the door as they say, NO MORE IMIGRANTS. Give the Genuine BRITS a Chance in their own Country, its our country not theirs, think about this you other parties, the BRITS are sick, tired and disillusioned and the country has been on slide for long enough now. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

See, that's where the right-wing parties get it wrong IMO.
This blanket fear of immigration and immigrants makes them sound weak, not strong. I wish they would adopt an American view along the lines of 'bring me your poor and dispossesed - and if they are prepared to work hard, accept that the language of Britain is English and that we are a secular society, practising religous toleration but underpinned by Judeo-Christian values, then come one, come all.' I'd rather a hard-working Polish guy than a layabout 'indigenous' slob, playing the benefits system, any day of the week. ...and I'd rather not have the dead-hand of Brussels usurping our democracy that has worked well for hundreds of years. |
