3. Scum 1 Real Madrid 2. A great and fair result, with the best team going thru. Great to see SAF go missing as he sulked after the result. What a sore loser and he tried to blame the ref too. Listen to what Roy Jeane had to say Alex!!
2. Sprinter Sacre's complete annihilation of the opposition in last weeks Queen Mother Champion Chase. Can't wait for this monster to step up in distance, let's hope he can see out 3 miles around Kempton and maybe even further in time. A privilege to watch
1. Rafa Nadal's stunning and utterly remarkable comeback to win the Masters at Indian Wells last night. Boy, have we missed Rafa from tennis. Brilliant performance.
Sorry, this a sporting achievement thread, egg chasing/testicle tickling minority pastimes don't qualify. That would need a Pastime Achievements thread - must have been some good Crochet Competitions, Model Train Sets and the like in 2013?

Wales beating the World's All Time Greatest Ever World Champion Golden Generation Team of Holy Saints (apparently), to complete a highly unlikely 6 Nations Title Win is a bit unlucky not to get the nod.
I guess the England Rugby Team also over-achieved in that none of their number have reportedly been arrested yet for antics in hotels involving females, or been sent home in disgrace.

Isn't it enough that the best team won and won so comprehensively on Saturday, winning the Championship in so exhilerating fashion and enhancing the Lions claims of so many of the men in red in the process.
All I've heard from my Welsh friends, contacts and not-so friends since the weekend is this stuff about how arrogant the English were supposed to have been beforehand, rather than celebrating their own team's achievement.
Of course, it sits nicely to re-enforce stereotypes and I daresay there were a few hotheads claiming England were this that and the other - every team in every sport have simple minded numpties that can't see beyond the end of their nose - but certainly I heard of no arrogance from the English Squad beforehand and if there were I can only trust that it would have been squashed emphatically by management, given Englands hard-won repuitation as chokers par excellence in these 'winner take all on foreign soil' games.
But if it pleases you to play the victim of the big bad arrogant English.....

think the horse can do anything they want. I would be going for the Gold Cup, why the feck not! He would be cantering at 65% to 75% of his cruising speed the whole way
I don't see why they don't go to the Melling Chase, if he were to beat Cue Card 5 lengths or more there he would clearly be capable of winning at longer trips. Then go Betfair, King George, Denman, Gold Cup
same as Kauto

Agree with judorick with my racing fan hat on, but for connections, just sit around and hoover up the ££££'s scaring off the opposition in the Tingle Creek, Game Spirit and Champion Chase (have a think about Liverpool or Punchestown being the only decision you take year on year about the horse).
Don't think Simonsig is in the same county next year TBH

Sprinter will hack up if they go for The Melling Chase next, but an extra half mile round there on better ground isn't gonna' tell us anything new. Plenty of Champion Chase winners have gone on there and either won or gone close in that race. Obviously he's a better, stronger horse now, and a brilliant jumper, but you'd still have to have his Supreme Novices run behind Al Ferof in the back of your mind if you are thinking about GC's, with strong staying types like Bobs around.

I object to the Phil Taylor omission for 2 reasons.
1. He actually lifted the trophy in 2013 2. It was the 2013 Ladbrokes World Darts Championships
Hurricane Fly's win the other day was superb. Looked in trouble coming round the final turn.

Oh, and specisl mention to MVG for his near miss of 2 9 darters. Happened very late in 2012, so would probably have missed most people lists. But it was a few mm short of an incredible achievement.

I'd go for Italy in the rugby 6 nations -no mention so far also Luton Town beating Norwich ,first 1t v 5t home defeat since 1985
brilliant run by sprinter ,but he was 1.22 to win I'd go for Italy in the rugby 6 nations -no mention so far also Luton Town beating Norwich ,first 1t v 5t home defeat since 1985
you could argue i suppose that the top flight then was on a par with the championship standard wise ,so yes ..this years achievement is a real first in that sense

Ok coach, but i made numerous mentions of the premier league, regardless of whether you did. I am clearly not winding up chit chats favourite aussie, if i was i would surely have mentioned the result of this mornings test match in india, something i have singularly failed to do so tonight.

Raikkonen's win in the Australian GP. He actually started 7th on the grid moved up to 4th and then won by the incredidably exciting tactic of having one less pit stop than his rivals. It doesn't get better than this so let's hope that the dreary processions we've seen in recent years are a thing of the past.
