As his agent, what percentage commission do you get. The reason is I know of a few football clubs what will be looking for a new manager at the turn of the year.

It's awful when your childhood heroes like Bobby Davro hit skidrow, once a showbiz goliath, now eeking out a meagre existence doing what he can to pay the bills. A similar fate has also befallen another of my all time favourite entertainers, Stu 'Ooh I could crush a grape' Francis. He is now a bus driver in Luton, a far cry from when he was at the top of his game making the masses laugh. It's all very sad I must say.

Keith Harris went all the way down to rock bottom from the nose-bleeding heights of his own TV show - Cuddles and Company - and (almost) live performances on Top of The Pops. When anything went.
He did so with a certain rock and roll panache though |

I saw Davro performing on TV less than 10 years ago. He was still giving it Norman Wisdom

Susan Stranks is another one, she of Paperplay fame with those lovable spiders Itsy and Bitsy. In its heyday that show would get over 12 million viewers and often beat old favourites like Crossroads, The Onedian Line and Bouquet Of Barbed Wire in the ratings.
Now she works as a dinner lady in a school near Hackney Marshes ![]() |

I would like to see Alan Carr with a real job. Well I wouldn't personally want to witness it as such, just knowing the talentless little f*cker is suffering would be enough.
|
|
By:
I could see Alan Carr as a club 18-30 rep or maybe an air steward

Is that really true about stu "i could rip a tissue" Francis? a true giant of light entertainment and often carried the ageing "Stewpot" on crackerjack. Most will know Jeffrey from Rainbow ended up stacking sheleves in Sainsburys before becoming a Cabbie. As ex dj Janice Long said on working at a meat processing factory "we've all got to eat" |
|
By:
He was in Deadenders for a year and jacked it in because
The actor revealed his decision to producers this week after being offered a new lucrative project. Bobby's surely not gone into a tailspin |

The "Coach Trip" beckons for a hungry Davro at this rate

good to see Bernie Clifton's still going strong. I think he deserves a knighthood for squeezing every last drop out of the ostrich routine.
|
|
By:
Clifton was on a documentary a couple of yrs ago about old showbizzers doing the Blackpool gigs and it was pleasing to see his hobby was searching through old skips!
I wonder if fellow celebrity squares contestants Norman Collier and Roger De Coursey are still going strong. Though these days you're either dead, part of operation yewtree or in panto. |

![]() Or in the retirement home with Richard O Sullivan |

Mad mad moon, funny you should say that about Richard O'Sullivan. I went to the Entertainment Artist Benevolent Fund base in Twickenham to see a man about a dog and Richard O'Sullivan was there wandering around aimlessly in a bit of a daze. It was quite disturbing at the time I must say, programmes like Man About The House and Robins Nest were very popular back in the day, he was hardly recognisable.
![]() I just read on Twitter that Lene Lovich, she of 'Lucky Numbers' worldwide fame now works in the Pret A Manger in Watford making the sarnies So many of my childhood idols have derailed and it's a very sad state of affairs. |
|
By:
Thats a shame about Richard O Sullivan, seemed such an easy going personable chap, good looking fella as well.Few years back i was grabbing a quick drink before my train at Manchester Victoria station when i sees a tiny little (vaguely familiar)gaunt dishevelled old man sat in the corner twitching and rolling a **** while sipping what appeared to be a very large snifter of brandy. He got up for his train when i did,and picking up his cue case i realised it was none other than Alex Higgins.

I'm not sure what offscreen activities Kirstie Alley is up to these days, she sure doesn't look as if she's going hungry though
|
|
By:
Slippy, it seems Richard had a stroke a couple of years back and at 64 is destined to spend the rest of his life in Twickenham. Very sad.

|
By:
I have been jesting a bit on this thread, I have to confess I made the Lene Lovich story up
but I did genuinely go to EABF in Twickenham and he did not look a well man.I was more a Tessa Wyatt fan though I must say mmm, Sally Thomsett ended up looking like a Hungarian shot putter. |

Look forward to seeing bobby in the xmas extras episode alongside poor whatshisname ?

are there any recent pics of sally Thomsett ?

Saw Keith Harris and that bloody duck at Butlins 80's Skegness weekend a couple of years ago, wasn't too bad to be fair as didn't have to do his cleaned up TV act.

Poor Dav's ,all the best mate. Anyone know whats happened to Monkhouse ? Saw him on Bob's full house the other night all tanned up.
It calmed me down watching it, got that old times feeling ![]() |
|
By:
Monkhouse is brown bread, worked pretty much up til the end though.
|
|
By:
Monkhouse dead isn't he? Apparently he was a real hoarder and had thousands of hours of VT tape, much of it lost to the TV companies
|
|
By:
Monkhouse is indeed Brown Bread but tbf was a success right up to the end,no sorting the trolleys out at Morrisons or booking mini cabs for the sun tanned jokemeister.Famously came 3rd in the "worlds most tanned man" contest behind (i think) "Gorgeous" George Hamilton and our very own Des O Connor.
