Was dragged to S Club Seven by my daughter. A good night out though, apart from the fat sl@g sitting behind who yelled at my daughter to sit down every time she fancied a wee jig.

Queen
ACDC
Slade, saw them in the 80's a great night.
Motorhead,with Filthy Phil and Eddie.
Iron Maiden with Diannio and Bruce Dickenson
Rose Tattoo, lead singer Angry Anderson did the Jason and Kylie wedding song.A better reflection of the band is Bad boy for love, rock  n roll outlaw or the butcher and fast eddie.

The following who is with who this week bands

UFO,MSG and the Scorpions

Rainbow,Black Sabbath,Dio,Gillan,Whitesnake and Judas Priest

Thin Lizzy
Ossie Osbourne, with Randy Rhodes on guitar.
Plus loads of 80'S heavy metal bands Saxon and Def Leppard (when the drummer had both hands)also The Tigers of Pan Tang with John Sykes.

The 2 bands that go against my rock genre are

New Music, living by numbers and world of water their only hits i think.I was almost 14 my first gig,the ticket said doors open at 7.30pm so i met my mates and was there for 7.15.It was a University gig New Music came on at 12.15,when i arrived home at 4.15 there was a welcoming committee .The Old Man was sitting up waiting for me,he had to be up for work at 6am.Never crossed my mind to ring them.

Altered Images,it was my 18th birthday and the only band on that night.Don't remember if Claire and the boys were any good,a few too many bitter shandies.I do remember the first support band though never seen anything like it again ,an indie type band banging away and a bird reading poetry from a book .She hadn't even learnt it,she was reading it.
If you could imagine The Smiths but without Morrissey ,but with Pam Ayres instead.

Loudest Gig - Emerson Lake & Palmer ( Leeds Town Hall ) / AC/DC ( Leeds Queens Hall )

RLKP - What did you think of PJ in Manchester? Did you go both nights?
Report RLKingPunter December 8, 2012 7:25 PM GMT
no mate i went 2nd night with a mate whose a big PJ fan, ive only got the Ten album so really only knew Alive and Evenflow but got to admit they were good, they didnt play Jeremy that night. Come away though with a new PJ fav track - Better Man, what a song that is ...was gonna see Rush at sheff but 65 quid a ticket, they are one of the best stadium bands ive seen but 130 quid for 2 , its taking the mick.

Good to see a few Carter fans in the house, I thought it was just me.

I've got very vague memories of seeing The Sugarcubes, I was quite tired and emotional at the time but I was there, might have been the Dominion, Tottenham Court Road but not completely certain about the venue.

Only e*er seen one,i went to see The Japan Cup a while back and The Nolans were playing after Racing,i thought they were good.Grin
Report HRH The Lager Khan December 8, 2012 7:35 PM GMT
Glad you enjoyed it. It was almost a two part performance, with very few songs being played both nights. I went to both, stayed in the pub after the second gig til' gone 2, then woke up the next morning with a storming hangover and had to contemplate getting to the Isle Of Wight to see them again the next day. Better Man is indeed magnificent.

Good stuff dizzy. How was it to work with The Smiths? I see Johnny Marr is touring his solo album next year.

They were fine HRH, apart from a bit of brief small talk with the other three I only really talked much to Mike Joyce the drummer. He was very friendly and even though we played just one gig with them so we only really spent a short time chatting, he remembered me when I met him ten years later in Japan when he was drumming for the Buzzcocks, and gave me and my mates the full guest list/dressing room access thing. I found him to be a decent bloke, not up his own a**e and believing his own hype like so many others who have a hit or three.

While here, i tried to find out about The Bishops, which was a two brother (I think) band that me and another forumite saw a couple of times. They always wore suits in Blues Brother stylee, and were most excellent, playing at gaffs such as Barfly 'n' that.

Anyone? It isnt The Bishops band that comes up now though
