I'm thinking of making an offer on a new property but obviously i do not want to live near any housing association tenants. Is there a way of finding out if there are any on a street? I mean i don't want to spend over £200,000 to live on a council estate and these days those scavengers can turn up on any street.
If they stand outside the front door or back door smoking then normally they are renters. If they do it while wearing a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms or dressing gown then they are housing association.

I really think that this is a good idea. I mean you have pay for mining searches and stuff why not a Housing Association search?
Just imagine working extra hours and being careful with your money to save a deposit, then finding out your neighbour hasn't spent a single penny! It's not on imo.

There is a simple answer to finding out, in the event you're serious, which I doubt.
There will be a local land/property registrar you can consult, it's public information. Just google "sasine register" and you'll be on the way to the answers to who or what owns any property you want to know about.
There, that's another five minutes wasted.

Starting any day now, a dead giveaway will be the Christmas lights hanging from every window with an inflatable Santa Claus hilariously mounting the reindeer on the roof.
