It's an expression that was used by my parents, and relatives etc, generally referring back to the early 1900s.
Not something I have ever seen used by folks from my generation, so are "The Olden Days" still from the early 1900s?

When 20, was in New York and they were clearly doing some filming at a road junction as all the pedestrians were being held back.
After we were allowed to move on, I walked towards where the filming was being carried out.
And She walked straight passed me! In real life!

I watched a brilliant film a couple of weeks ago with Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtney. It was called 45 Years.
