A profoundly depressing end to an extraordinary evening of success, and knowing our media this will sadly no doubt overshadow the glory.

Then again, I've been watching the Olympics since Mexico, and as best as I can remember this is the first time I've heard anyone (even Pickering, Carpenter or McWhirter ) screaming 'Rip her a new pair of beef curtains Jessie-wessie bonnie lass' during an 800m race. They didn't say things like that even when Dave Wottle was winning the 800m in Munich or when Nadia Comeneci was doing the splits without ripping her leotard in Montreal.

Now to be fair I couldn't place the voice I heard screaming this filth like a drug-demolished deranged banshee on Extra-Strong Phyllosan, but it seems my concerns have been totally justified.

Agree,threads a joke.Watched it last night and saw nothing of note other than some great performances.

Heard the BBC are thinking of bringing in a 10 second time delay for "live" broadcasts as incidents such as this are becoming increasingly common.

I can only imagine she thought she was off-camera and just having a private joke with the other panellists. If it wasnt for Michael Johnson giving her a sharp nudge she would have carried on ....

This isn't just fishing it's trawling on a massive scale.
