Michelle Jenneke will make her Olympics debut in Rio later this year after she was named to the Australian track and field team.
Jenneke was selected to the team on the weekend after securing a first place and qualifying time of 12.93 in the 100m hurdles at the Australian Athletics Championships in Sydney. Michelle Jenneke reacts after being selected to the Australian track and field team for Rio.
Jenneke will compete in the 100m hurdles at Rio alongside World Champion and Olympic silver medallist Sally Pearson.
The 22-year-old from Dural won silver at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010 and was a finalist in the World Junior Championships in 2012.
She set a personal best of 12.82 seconds, becoming the second fastest Australian of all time, at last year’s Australian Championships and went on to win bronze at the 2015 World University Games.
Last month she finished 10th at her first World Indoor Championships in the United States.
