TMP....have you noticed that back then all kids were skinny?

In fact pretty much everyone was!

In a school of around 1,000 pupils there was only one fat boy!
Report twomatchpoints June 26, 2012 11:36 AM BST
Our resident fatty at junior school was Kenny Edgett. He was 10 stones before he was 11 years old. His younger brother Brian wasn't much smaller. Their dad wasn't that big, about 6-2 and 16 stones. I met Kenny years later at a job in Silvertown. We were both aged 26 then. He weighed about 27 stones by then, but he was 6 feet 5, and in his own words 'I carry it well don't I'.   He was an excellent swimmer and still played Sunday League football, and he wasn't a goalie either.

At senior school the resident fatty was Peter Edmondson, who got the nickname 'Wobble'. He was nowhere near as fat as Kenny, but he was the fattest, so he got the nickname. The other 399 kids, including Wobbles older brother Ronnie, were all normally skinny.
Report Aunty Post June 26, 2012 11:45 AM BST
Our fat boy at school was called Holgate (can't recall his first name) and he was tormented something cruel.

One morning, before assembly, he was stood over the tennis net, on one of the front courts,
and had it wound up tight under his crotch.

There was no way he could get off, without falling onto the asphalt, and doing himself an injury.

I hasten to add that I was not party to this mischief, nor was I the one who took his enormous under pants, when he was in the shower, and hoisted them up the flag pole!

'Felt like it' was the simple answer.

It was blonde at her eldest daughters confirmation, but she has it black at the moment

I'll get James to do it again, although on second thoughts, there may be a reason for it!

If you wear those crazy 'flip-flops' that the Australians call 'thongs' you need that gap for them to fit properly!

We live nowhere near Liverpool, and I am not the greatest fan of the sport, but James somehow latched on to them from his early
