as above .with the hotel at the back of lime street station ,cant remember what its called.holiday inn on albert dock usually cheap too. formula1next to ibis one is peanuts if you like sharing bathroom .dolby hotel as well .ten min walk to centre.

The hotel at the back of Lime Street station is The Lord Nelson.Stayed there a couple of years ago with a cracking deal of just under £60 for two nights.
Depends what you're expecting but if it's just somewhere to sleep, the room was ensuite, tidy and the bathroom immaculate.
The Maharajah (sp?) 50 yds down the side street wasn't bad either.

base2stay was a very good central hotel which was cheap midweek but a bit pricier at the weekend. Also stopped at the premier inn on the lively albert dock, if you stop here at the weekend make sure you don't plan on an early night
