Rio pulling the 'is it because I is black' card....

The Guardian's source claims that Ferdinand has asked: "At what point am I considered for a call-up? Is it when you get down to the Ryman League?"

The source adds: "Rio is very angry and he feels that every black player in Britain, every black fan and everyone in the black community has been insulted by this."

FA should have insisted on taking neither Ferdinand or Terry on the grounds that both are not fit people to represent England.

If that was the criteria we'd have to ask FIFA to make all competitions five-a-side.

I think Rio has dissed on his chips! LaughLaugh

When Roy finds out, he's toast.

Maybe its a hugely elaborate Rio's European Championships wind-up and Roy and the FA are playing along?

The quote is from 'a source' though. If it was from him then everyone would laugh at him

Seems an assortred collection of "is it coz i'm black" players have been jumping on the already overloaded buckled "race cart"

Top end shoulder chipped simpletons like Rio and John Barnes
never seem to miss a trick when a victim is needed.Barnes has been harking on about ruddy slavery again ffs!

Thankfully footballs (and possibly humanitys) thickest man Asley Cole is yet to voice an opinion.
Report The Magic Flea June 5, 2012 2:05 PM BST
In fairness Barnes faced more than his fair share of bigotry during his playing days. Rio on the other hand doesn't have a leg to stand on. But then again it is from a "source"

MF

JB DID get race stick and it's fair that he can comment on it but his "victim" thing is usually mildly stomach churning as he simply aches to given a top managers job.

Racism is nigh on extinct in english grounds, gawd only knows why they continue to hark on about it it just creates an industry around a non event.Don't black people just wanna get on with life like everyone else? The (admittedely) few i know couldn't give a flying feck about these daft campaings

If I was black and on £30k a week they could call me whatever they want

My mate I went to uni with, works as an accountant with KPMG, lives in Richmond. He is extremely well spoken and the most patriotic bloke I know. And still he tells me it is virtually impossible for him to flag down a black cab when he is on his own. Even dressed in a suit.
Also the stories he told me about growing up in Luton in the 80's as a black bloke are disgusting. All credit to his parents that they kept him and his siblings on the straight and narrow. But he still carries the scars, understandably. A lot has changed though, thankfully, in the last few decades.

Let's face facts - England team members are not picked on colour of skin. It is a joke for anyone in this day and age to even say such

Nothing to do with his colour, maybe they know he's an accountant.

Yep, Ferdinand's being a knob here, no doubt. Absolutely no need to stir things up by bringing colour into it.
Report moisok June 5, 2012 7:25 PM BST
magic you are spot on
a dear mate of mine - a big black fker - english as you or me though - be-suited and booted - very good job - tells the same story
and still till this day he gets stopped by the police
but then he does drive one of these lowered sporty wheeled bmw thingies at a zillion miles an hour
but in all other aspects a very well spoken and respectable guy
he can tell you a ton of stories about rascism in the workplace and at play
not a very nice story but he appears not to bear a grudge (much) and gets on with life

This is Britain 2012, not Alabama 1960.I don't believe black people suffer from any racism. They certainly don't in Birmingham.
