I heard Babylon's Burning by the Ruts recently - still sounded pretty good
I think Bodies by the Sex Pistols probably represents punk's zenith |
|
By:
OMG...tough call to name just one but this track edges out the likes of The Clash and The Pistols best tunes (for me).
Love In A Void - Siouxsie & The Banshees http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNw7u5J1oOI&feature=related |

In a Rut - The Ruts
Bodies is indeed the pistols finest moment. |

Tough one. I'll go for Johnny Was - Stiff Little Fingers.
I still have a punk cd that I listen to in the car, mostly comprising of Sham 69, The Clash & The Buzz****. The early Buzz**** songs sung by Howard Devoto were superb. I also have a Crass CD in my car when I fancy listening to something really alternative. |

Memory Lane time here and some cracking suggestions.
Band - Probabaly Stiff Little Fingers who I saw about half-a-dozen times at Friars, Aylesbury, where they recorded their 'Hanx' live album. So many fantastic tracks, especially off their first album, 'Breakout' being my favourite. Mentioned in despatches: UK82 - Exploited They Declare It - Discharge Ghetto - The Wall For My Country - UKDK West One (Shine On Me) - The Ruts Outside View - Eater Holiday In Cambodia - Dead Kennedys Six Pack - Blag Flag If The Kids Are United - Sham 69 Smalltown England - New Model Army Masquerade - The Skids |
|
By:
Previously mentioned
Pistols - Pretty Vacant and If The Kids Are United - Sham 69 for sure. Also: Penetration - Don't Dictate Rezillos - I love My baby Cooz she does good sculptures. UK Subs - Stranglehold Clash - Tommy Gun |
|
By:
UK'82 (Exploited) still one of the best punk songs ever.

Yeah - Wattie Buchan is a complete t00l but that song has real menace to it. Was used very effectively in 'Made in England' starring Tim Roth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZXyHD927Nw |
