I think there's a support email address you can email, a similar thing happened to my old man and they managed to reset it even though he didnt have an alternative address.

Happened to my other half recently...there is a set of steps to go through (including a security question) if you follow their wizard for 'I can't access my account' or something similar. During the process you'll need to furnish them with an email address so they can send you the new password...once you've got that far you're done...then change your pass again once you're in.

Ok, cheers for all serious advice, when I have more time I will follow advice given. Still struggling with the system though. Nothing from my betfair account mind. Jbha, they didn't manage to access bank accounts and stuff did they? I've cancelled my card already if that is worth anything.

managed to access moneybookers and from there it was sent to other moneybookers accounts and finally to russian banks, hoping that some of it gets stopped - when i discovered what was going on i thought that they had managed to get hold of all passwords so it could have been a lot worse
