I went out this evening to buy some food from the local Tesco. The one member of staff serving at the tills was busily rummaging around on the floor and putting rubbish into a bin bag before serving customers. I left, deciding not to eat a batch of lethal bacteria with my food.

I went instead to McDonalds just down the road, where the woman serving was running her hands through her hair in between serving customers. A bit off-putting, but not a major problem. The woman cooking the fries, though, was picking some she had dropped off the floor with her hands before continuing to put the others into their cardboard packets.

So when, I was served these fries, despite the restaurant closing in four minutes from then, and with around five different customers waiting, I said to the woman, 'I dont want to make a fuss, but I just saw you picking food off the floor before handling these fries, and that seems to me to be quite dangerous in terms of food hygiene'. I was then asked whether I wanted some more, and I told her that I didnt want the ones she had given me, to which she replied that it would take another three minutes to cook some more, as if to try to put me off. I didn't mind, so I said I would wait. The other customers, all blokes, gawped as if to say 'what is wrong with you?' and I was embarrassed at having had to say that to this woman in front of the customers and her colleagues, but I thought to myself, why should I eat those and get struck down with food poisoning because I didn't want to mention it?

Would you have done the same, or would you not be bothered about it? Or would you have been too embarrassed to say anything?

She didnt serve the chips that were on the floor, but nor did she clean her hands before continuing to serve the other fries.

You just dont know though - someone may have walked in some dog crap before starting work that day and the bacteria could be all over the floor.

I assume this is a wind-up?

Anyone who eats anything bought from McDonalds clearly has little or no regard for their health to begin with.

Worrying about some chips handled after being on the floor in McDonalds is like worrying about getting a splinter from the post you are tied to when about to be shot by firing squad.

I went to an Iranian kebab shop and the men working in there were shirtless. I was disgusted and vaguely aroused.

Owner of the post office in my last village (together with his wife and sons) were the most ugly, inbred looking
people you could ever conceive in your worst nightmare!

He had enormous hands that were always black (maybe from the newspapers but perhaps not)!

The kids would come in and ask for a 20p mix, and he would pick up a bag, lick his fingers, and then pick
up the sweets with the same hand!

Ferking disgusting!

Makes you think of our very early ancestors and the food hygiene that did not exist. Saying that, would your average caveman buy the sh1te from MCdonalds?
