well at least they got someone who speaks English ! ______________ does anyone on here remember Hodgson from back in the early 90s ? there was an interview with him at Milan /Switzerland ? and he had a distinct foreign accent , it was like a foreigner speaking English - now he has an almost old style London accent  |

As for Roy ... I don't think he has anything like the usual burden of expectation to contend with. England are not as good as Spain, Germany and Holland and on any given day all 3 of them would whup us (as Germany did in the World Cup, where we were outclassed) As for the rest ... I think given luck we CAN beat them (& most CAN beat us too) If Roy made it past the group stages, he'd probably be considered a success (usual expectation is winning it) |

8 years ago Greece staged the olympics and won euro 2004 despite not being fancied at all pre tournament.
before and after that pretty poor Brazilian and Italian teams won the world cup. Fk me Barcelona (one of the greatest sides ever assembled) gave away a 2 goal lead against ten men less than a week ago to go out of the european cup. People who think the best team always win have very short memories imo. |

I can honestly say I couldn't give a monkeys who is England manager nor do I particularly wish them well this Summer in the Euro 2012 championships. I've backed Holland and Spain, as long as either of them win I'm a happy bunny.
