Can we all put to bed once and for all the image the other fora have of the chit chat dwellers as the troglodite, egg stained , Y front wearing agoraphobics that we almost certainly are not by revealing our last three ventures in sporting situations. OK, I shall go first.
1) Harlequins against Wasps at The Stoop - 14/04/2012. A magnificent days rugby, a full house and the Quins covered the handicap winning 33-17 which paid for the day, highly enjoyable. The cheerleaders were in fine form as well and that was an added pleasure.
2) Huntingdon races - 27/01/2012 - Bad start to the meeting with a 13/2 and 20/1 winning the first two races both went unbacked. Three favourites and a placepot perm up which paid surprising well later, added to several pints and a hog roast roll and it turned out fairly well in the end.
3) Wimbledon dog track - Can't remember the exact day, around the second Saturday of January though could have been a Friday. Got there for the fourth race, the chaps all a bit steaming so not the best of ideas really as we were pretty much guessing. Three losing bets later I was in a taxi saying 'home James'. A night to forget and Wimbledon is such a complete and utter dump now I got a bit depressed at the state of the place remembering how it used to be like.
So there you have it, a pathetic sporting journal for 2012 so far but at least I did make some semblance of effort I suppose. Must do better from now on though definitely.
nothing since 2008 but prior to that May 2007 touring cars at Donnington, July 2007 Windsor races and the last would be about March 2008 which was a Burton Albion home match against Kettering

Glentoran home to Ballymena (got rat arsed and lost 2-1) 24/3/12 Glentoran away to Sligo (got rat arsed and lost 2-0) 5/3/12 Glentoran away to Bray (got rat arsed and won 4-2) 11/2/12
I see a pattern developing.

Do you bet on Glentoran Ovalman? Personally I just cannot watch a football match without having a punt on it, no bet then I can't be bothered watching.

I rarely gamble Slippy but I'd turn over a helluva a lot of $$$ every day playing poker online.
I go to the Glens matches more because my mates go than for the football. Our league and quality has went downhill massively but I still enjoy the day out. They show the matches in the social club on the big screen so I sit and have a pint and watch it.
Pay per view if you like.

Blackpool away yesterday and West Ham at home a few week ago with a Toronto Blue Jays game sandwiched in between. A draw, a win and a loss. The win of course, not for Burnley

Last cricket match: All 4 days of Somerset's victory over Middx in the County Championship last week
Last football match: Yeovil Town's unlucky 6-0 slip-up at home to Stevenage Borough a fortnight ago
Last race meeting: Taunton, 30 Dec. 2009
The last one really saddens me. Of all the ways Betfair has ruined the game for serious punters, the effect it's had on the market on-course is the most depressing. With every bookie simply arbing against the prices on here, it's no longer viable to pay to go racing and enjoy fresh air and the company of your mates.
Between 1990 and 2005 I went racing just about every single day. I used to moan about everything, from the train journeys to the rain to the bookmakers, but what I'd give to turn the clock back to the first Saturday in August 2 decades ago, and the anticipation of the jumps season resuming at Newton Abbot, and plotting how to get on the dark one in the seller ...

Purely down to using this forum over the years The Leopard I'm actually a fairly quick typer now
Fairly disappointing turn out of sporting experiences though from the chit chat massif for 2012 so far though I have to say. The morning crew will hopefully add something as it's not looking too impressive thus far.

only 2 in 10 years for me ,first Wimbledon (Tennis) went along with a tennis mad mate -half the games were rained off - and then a football league match between neighbours Ipswich and Colchester - went more for novelty value than anything else Haven't been to Newmarket racecourse for 12 years
so not a great sporting nut
