I haven't seen them since they were biggish, but Shed Seven have a rep for being fantastic live these days. Little pushing of new material, lots of belting out what everyone wants to hear.
Seen 'em last few years, going again in December, they're still awesome. Like you say, it's a greatest hits tour and they don't bother singing owt new, mainly because I think they just reform for this tour every year and don't write owt new!
dug out my shed seven albums earlier, fcuk me "A Maximum High" was some album

I'm not into music in any big way, but scanning these posts I remember 49 of the groups mentioned.
So, not forgotten at all.
Great bands that time forgot ? ? ? I'm not into music in any big way, but scanning these posts I remember 49 of the groups mentioned. So, not forgotten at all.
Ilnamar 12 Oct 11 11:04 The Editors. Seems like yesterday their first album was released, where the hell are they now?
Editors' frontman Tom Smith and former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows have collaborated on a Christmas album which they will release later this year.
The pair – who will go under the moniker of Smith & Burrows – have teamed up together to record the festive 'Funny Looking Angels', which will be released on November 28.
Songs set to appear on the LP include covers of Yazoo's 'Only You' and The Longpigs' 'On and On' , while Danish singer Agnes Obel will feature on the classic track 'The Christmas Song', which was most famously sung by Nat King Cole.

I see The Passions got a mention. They were an odd band. Hard to believe I'm In Love With A German Film Star was recorded by the same Barbara and Claire who earlier worked in the Rough Trade record shop.
I've got a fanzine from 30+ years ago, called Things In General, issue 2, which features an interview with The Passions and the claim "They don't believe the songs should contain any direct political message." And then: "The one obvious anomaly is 'Ireland's War', which includes the line 'I don't grieve for Airey Neave or any other Brit.'"Shocked
The Passions were definitely something of a curate's egg. Gogan's voice really worked for me though, it could jump from soothing to quite unsettling in the space of a few words.. and not in a contrived way. The arrangements were top notch new wave affairs with some lovely chord changes.
Thirty Thousand Feet Over China also has one of my favourite front covers of the early eighties. Simple but effective.
