Are these people completely mad?
By:
Need you ask!
By:
Probably not. But what overcomes them?
Guaranteed £90,000. Utility of money and all that. Gamble £89,995 to win £249,995 on a one off coin toss. Madness. |
By:
She could not have cared that must about the hospice otherwiswe she would have taken the 90K, so instead of the hospice getting a sizable chunk of money they get nothing due to her greed and stupidity.
By:
Probably the worst bet i have seen for some while.
Most players wouldnt have even got offererd 90K on that deal. She said she hadnt any money all her life.Somehow that dosnt surprise me if she has made stupid decisions like that all her life. Honestly, you cant help some people |

Tha value of the box was £125,000. Banker only offered £90.000.
Would YOU sell a tenner for seven and a half quid? That's the decision..,.are you happy to sell at 75% of the actual value? The individual amounts are of little relevance. |

£250k v £??? please?
By:
V a fiver.
By:
90K is real money, the 250 is just a tool to able to assist you to that type of money.
It would not have been so bad if she had the 50k as a back up and the offer was say 125K it may have bee worth going for,at least she could have taken home an useable amount of money. But fiver FFS! Greed is a terrible trait |
By:
Unreal
60k would had been the 50/50 question |
By:
Don't actually think it was a case of pure greed this time, she was 100% sure she had the big money in her box, to a point where as the box was being opened she raised her hand to celebrate, she was more shocked that the 250k was not in her box rather than disappointment she had lost 90k.
By:
Agree, pumphol, she looked genuinely surprised that the £250,000 was not in the box. Maybe some 'mystic' had told her she would win it or something like that. She seemed certain all the way through and turned down other large amounts that did not make any sense.

Annie they do hand pick some odd types for this show that's for sure

it's interesting that the only winners of the 250K have been female to date. Although men are generally more prepared to take a gamble throughout the game (imo), it seems women are more prepared to take the ultimate gamble at the very end.

They would not be able to get away with putting actors on.If your cousin has been on 3 times, does he go in disguise?

the worst thing about this show is that it's rewarding people for having no skill or no brain. it's simply blind luck. it's like playing the lottery or buying a scratchcard. there's no intelligence involved in it whatsoever. it's gripping tv don't get me wrong but it's shows like this that are a detriment to our society and put poor values ahead of rich ones. I get the human element though which does make the show watchable but should we be rewarding such stupidity? no.
