Police probably aren't ordering anyone to close. I suspect that any insurance is nullified if you choose to ignore specific police advice though.

The closest run of local shops to me have pulled down all their shutters, got some big lads on the doors, and have the girls and women acting as spotters. They said they'd stay open til it kicked off, or 6pm, whichever was sooner.

Many say that the riots were due to numerous poor people, lack of jobs and lashing out or even taking what they need to survive - obviously they eat TVs and trainers.

But the most deprived area of the country, Middlesbrough, and the north east, didn't see a single peep of trouble.  So was it all violence for fun and opportunistic thievery when you think there's barely a chance of being caught?

In fairness they were not really riots, just a demonstartion of how testosterone deprivedly pussified the Britsh police are.
If that happened in the vast majority of other European countries there would have been batons down over heads and mace spray galore on the so called "rioters" and it would have been over before you know it.

But they police aren't allowed to do that.  All the liberals in charge say so, and it's not worth risking your job or freedom, as a copper, for such scuum, is it?

I agree, in most European countries they would get a shock, especially the eastern bloc countries. Unfortunately this also goes with corruption and less freedoms as a law abiding citizen, more aggressive and organised gangs, etc.

There was one piece of footage of 3 coppers catching up with one rioter and giving him a few stout whacks with the baton. Pleasing to watch.

I'm sure a lot of the police would like to wade in a get involved wouldn't they? After all, most of the coppers are thick ruffians too, aren't they?

You certainly don't join the police as a career path if you are intelligent.

Most EDL marches attract A "few lads"
In the cities the "few lads" have tended to sh1te their pants and run when conronted.
Now they are targetting the regions, they will end up push and shoving with the old bill for a bit.
The cops will send the riot police in and the 200 or so meat heads will back off having caused the town centre to shut down on it's most lucrative business day of the week.
Local businesses the victims of this weekends march in Rotherham 1.01.

1.01 no press coverage, been little or no coverage regarding the rapists/groomers, all these years.

Would love to see the Rotherham council leader turn up, tell the EDL why he thought the home office report on widescale child abuse,(printed for all to see in the Times) was sensationalism.

This is the only issue here, a few shops closing in one of the most racially lawless towns in the UK, is a small price to pay.

Anything that brings this story to the masses, has to good, shame it is the edl and not the state controlled media.

Never mind up north...

Westfield City, the multi-million pound shopping centre next to the Olympic Park had boarded-up shops before the Olympics began. Orgnanised shoplifting gangs have made their mark there, never mind rioters.
