I went to a Tesco filling station today and decided on the pay at the pump stuck in the card, pin no accepted before I had a chance to lift the diesel pump a cleaner who was giving the pumps a polish knocked the unleaded nozzle from its holder,I returned the dropped nozzle to its holder and low and behold a receipt appears 0.7p plus 0.1p vat no fuel dispensed.

I hate Tesco, ripping the p iss from all who dare to shop there ...........................................[>o]
We all have the answer to Tesco's rip off tactics while pretending to be the shoppers' friend. Simply don't spend money there or just go in for the special offer and make sure you don't buy anything else. The trouble with the last one is that it's the supplier who has to stand the hit on the BOGOFs.

11KV I hope you paid for your fuel ?? A Drive-Off is an offence and Police will be informed --CCTV will have your registration number too..
Several people have been found guilty of stealing "vouchers" , the type you get for 25p off a loaf , 30p off tomatoes .. for Legal purposes , the court gives the vouchers a nominal valuation of 1/2p ..or 0.5p..
so your 0.7p is well above that !!

I go to my local Tesco which is a relatively small one with limited choice, mainly because it's convenient and less crowded than most supermarkets. Recently it closed for a week for an upgrade with a view to creating space to stock a bigger range of goods. When it opened as expected, everything was in a different place but generally the place was pleasing on the eye and had a new lighting system. So far so good until I got to the wine section which is now much bigger. Under large headings of 'new' is a section called The Collection. This is a range of red and white wines which range in price from £20 - £92.29p per bottle ffs. I've been in there 3 times in the last few weeks and I swear they haven't sold one. At a time when people are struggling to pay the food and utility bills, this is taking the piss good style. Imagine buying a bottle of wine for £92 - you'd be scared to pick the fcukin thing up never mind drink it. Even shoplifters wouldn't be able to sell it for more than a fiver.
I'm writing to the head office to tell em to fcuk off and display stuff that people can afford.

True 11KV but £92 a bottle. I thought £20-30 was pushing it. I can accept them stocking expensive champagne - even I've bought that for a special occasion.

They're starting to creep in and around my way in Taunton with there Express/Metro stores as well as their supermarket. They be taking over the world I tell ye. We'll end up with Tesco schools, pubs and Tesco County Council next.

Tesco really are the worst. They are like Ladbrokes. There are plenty of them about, and the zombies just go there because it is the nearest, and literally, the dearest station to them.
The Tesco experience IMO.
Tesco petrol stations are not really petrol stations. They are over-charging convenience stores that just happen to sell petrol.
Your average Tesco customer is an airhead woman in her thirties that leaves her car at the pumps while she goes and does her weekly shop in the store.Sometimes all eight,or so,pumps are clogged up by these ignorant women, prompting queues at the pumps and even tailbacks all the way up the road leading to the Mecca that is the Tesco filling station/convenient store. This is exacerbated by Tesco having only 4 staff working at the outlet, three of which seem to be permanently stacking shelves.
NOW THAT IS WHY I AVOID THESE CUNTTS.
Can anyone think of a better reason please ?

I'm seriously thinking whether to put used Chip Shop oil in my 14 year old diesel Scenic.
£1.41 in the cheapest garage in the area and £1.46 for my nearest.

I have to say that I get almost all of my fuel from a "Tesco Express" less than two miles away.
I would have to go out of my way to the few private operators on the other side of town.
When I was working, I always filled up to precise amounts, like £30.00 for instance, to make it easier for accounting purposes.
I still am in the habit, although it is increasingly difficult given the price of fuel, as the display whizzes round so quickly.
The thing I find at Tesco, is that when I manage to stop at £30.00, and carefully put back the hose, when I get to the till it has magically gone up by one or two pence!

I hate Tesco for the way they bulldoze through planning permission pretty much anywhere they want, the fact that Shirley Porter is an heir to the company (if you don't know what she did, google her name + 'Westminster council') and on an unrelated note, if I fill up at Tesco or any of the supermarkets for that matter I get about 300 miles on a tank of petrol, from Shell or BP I can get over 400. Saving 1 or 2p a litre at Tesco is a false economy. All that said, I do go to the local Express monday and tuesday after I drop my son at school cos I'm utterly smitten with the girl serving there those mornings. I'll put all principles aside for a flirt.

dexter....are you saying that that Tesco's price is so high, that you get over a third more fuel elsewhere, or are you saying that it's something to do with the quality of the fuel, that is less efficient?
I can't believe it could be the latter, nor can I believe the former, as if the price difference was so great it would be common knowledge, and most would go out of their way to fill up elsewhere.
Yesterday the price was £1.39.9 for unleaded.dexter....are you saying that that Tesco's price is so high, that you get over a third more fuel elsewhere,or are you saying that it's something to do with the quality of the fuel, that is less efficient
I just paid £20.02 for 14.95 litres of unleaded (£1.33.9p per litre).
My comment before saying £1.39.9p was obviously wrong!
