For me - Little Fish the scene where Tracy thinks about using the drugs she got for Lionel . She enters a building for the toilet, it turns out to be a concert hall and on the stage a school choir are singing . This stops her, fantastic scene and song choice .

A woman in a wheelchair doing a striptease. It took over twenty minutes for her to finally get down to knickers and for that twenty minutes, 3 pints of my blood was pumping round my flesh crane like a Subaru flying round Brands Hatch. I got well lightheaded.
I was tempted to slap a Bag for Life over my head and go for the golden Strangle-Death-W#nk but then I thought about the irony of having the said bag over my head and went all floppy. What a waste of a half hour!
Oh all right then. The pi$$ed Prince of Denmark soliloquy from Hamlet that Withnail delivers at the end of the film, to an audience of manky wolves in London Zoo is pretty good.

Toy Story 3, when both the human and the toys realise that it's time to let go and move on. I sat watching it in the cinema with my kids and was glad of the 3D specs and darkness, as it masked the rheumy look I suddenly developed in my eyes.

the shining, the mens' room scene with jack torrance and delbert grady:
Grady: Did you know, Mr. Torrance, that your son is attempting to bring an outside party into this situation? Did you know that? Jack: No. Grady: He is, Mr. Torrance. Jack: Who? Grady: A nïgger. Jack: A nïgger? Grady: A nïgger cook. Jack: How? Grady: Your son has a very great talent. I don't think you are aware how great it is. That he is attempting to use that very talent against your will. Jack: He is a very willful boy. Grady: Indeed he is, Mr. Torrance. A very willful boy. A rather, naughty boy, if I may be so bold, sir? Jack: It's his mother. She, uh, interferes. Grady: Perhaps they need a good, talking to, if you don't mind my saying so? Perhaps a bit more. My girls, sir, they didn't care for the Overlook at first. One of them actually stole a pack of matches, and tried to burn it down. But I, corrected, them sir. And when my wife tried to prevent me from doing my duty, I, corrected, her, too.

the scene in Wall Street where larry wildman & gekko are haggling over the price of Annacott Steel. A brilliant display of controlled aggression from stamp:
I could break you, mate, in two pieces over my knees, you know it, I know it; I could buy you six times ever; I could dump the stock just to burn your arse. But I happen to want the company and I want your block of shares. I'm announcing a tender offer at 65 tomorrow, and I'm expecting your commitment.

The last half hour of Goodfellas as it all starts to unravel is a masterclass in building tension. But the sheer claustrophobia of the scene where DeNiro meets up with Lorraine Bracco for a drop off and then tells her to go a few doors down and take a nice dress. The tension as she tries to decide what to do as DeNiro is giving her that smile, you're willing her to keep walking, you just know she shouldn't go through that door. Thankfully she has been infected by enough of her husband, Liottas, paranoia to eventually give it a swerve. I'm clammy thinking about it.

Mr Badger's suggestion of the Wall Street Gecko/Wildman one is quite excellent.
Any number of scenes from that film are awesome, and Gecko's speech to the Teldar paper meeting is quite superb. "Greed...is good"
Another Wall Street classis is when Gecko is on his massive mobile phone to Bud Fox, whilst walking along the beach. "I'm going to make you rich Bud Fox".
In fact....I'm off to watch it again.

there is also a firing squad scene in Paths of Glory which is probably Kirk Douglas's finest performance.

It's a wonderful life when that bloke was going to kill himself and he wished he'd never been born and then a trainee angel came to save his life by making him see how it affected those around him had he never been born.

The scene at the end of The Mist, where he shoots his son, the two old folk and the woman
Only for the mist to clear a few moments later and the military drive past, with the woman and her kids on the back of a wagon, the same woman no one would help at the start
Great ending

Where the Italian gangster bulldozes two E-Type Jaguars and an Aston Martin DB4 makes me cry every time
The greatest and most powerful scene in cinematic history though in my opinion is when they sing La Marseillaise in Casablanca
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM-E2H1ChJM
One of the reasons I have since found out after watching it is that many of the extra's in this film were French Refugee's who had escaped the Nazi's after the fall of France and they were not acting! Their true feelings were caught in time on film, truly beautiful.

There`s a scene in the middle of The Bridge of Terabithia that hits you like a sledgehammer. It`s an otherwise fairly mundane kids movie but I won`t give it away.

The denouement to Manon Des Sources when Cesar, who's nephew had just killed hiimself in shame, is told that the hunchback whom he drove to death by his greed, was the son he had always wanted, and that Manon was therefore his grandaughter.

Tommy De Vito asking Henry Hill how he's funny. Simply chilling. I almost lose control of my bladder every time I see it - and I've seen it a lot of times. Unscripted apparently. Suggested by JP to Scorcese and he went with it.

I have watched the film many times and - for me - the glitch is when the narrator expresses his relief after (he is told) Moby (?) is spared his life. Because his pov is from speaking in the future. So when they kill him later that night, it is a surprise, but not a satisfying one. It makes the viewer doubt the narrator.

That is a great scene Steerforth. The most memorable one in Goodfellas for me
Made me think of the memorable psycho scene in Full Metal Jacket. The "this is my rifle" scene from Private Pyle
