This is outrageously sad but me and a work collegaue have been having a debate on which personalised numberplate would be worth more:

CHR1S or CG1

The debate is not are personalised plates **** or not, merely the question as above; any replies greatfuly received!

I saved myself a small fortune by simply paying £25 to change my name by deed poll .
Yours sincerely , Mr . AEW 6PR .

surely "CHR1S" as "CG1" could stand for allsorts.

Sounds like a "living the dream" double glazing salesman's ultimate w@nkfest though in all fairness.

Usually, 1s are most valuable.

CG1 is priced at £525,000.

Good question.

These sort of plates are for one thing only, and that's for the owner to parade their wealth with. The serve no other purpose, unlike a flash car or a flash house.

Therefore, to answer your question, we must decide which one would represent wealth more readily. I'd say that CG1 on an appropriate vehicle would be the one.

Vulgar, and chavvy, displays a distinct lack of class in the nob driving.

It would have to be CG1.  CHRIS could only ever be used by somebody who was well known locally. In today's multi million pound Computer Graphics industry CG! must be worth a mint.

When we set up business, I said to my partner (who doesn't drive), if I ever talk about getting a personalised number plate, smack me in the mouth. I'm still paying the dental bills. Yours, TOP 5HAG. Don't even get that number scissors, am I being slow?

How come the picture of Tarby has been approved? Getty images slapped on it. Breach of copyright surely, and therefore should fall foul of the censors.

When I was in junior school the parents of one of the kids used to drive around in a little sports car entitled 4 KOV.

CHR1S or CG1?...... would suggest you turn your discussion to matters of nuclear fission where your thoughts will be a most welcome addition to the debate.

Guy I worked with was all proud of his which was something like JMC 679M.
His name was Jim Mc something. Was always pointing it out. Became a bit of a joke between the rest of us in the office.

You can slag them off but bought at right time they made fortunes.
My old man and his mate got a few in the 70s
One cost £80 and sold for £15,000.

Yep MoneyTree but I think there are different types.
Some are worth investing in like the COM1C one for instance but others are just plain daft with little hope of the price rising.

Many years ago ...
I had DOO 170 on a modified V12 XJS ...I ended up in Kingston Crown Court accused of "Reckless Driving" ( I wasn't).
The boys in blue made a big point about the number plate - thankfully I got a "Not Guilty" verdict...Happy
