not just chitchat.  There is an old classic from boxing day 2004 on cricket called "can the poms avoid an innings defeat", but surely there are many more with much earlier starting dates, so can anyone recall them?

That was the thread that sprang to mind when I saw this question!

Could be others, but there weren't many classics saved in the purge

the thread by kq on chit chat "what's your favourite fight" goes back 5 years I think, but not the oldest.

It might not be the oldest at the moment but there's every chance the Murray Grand Slams thread will still be going into the 2020's Laugh

The 2004 Cricket one is definitely oldest.

2005 : Amazing Fact Chain Letter and the favourite fight one.

A couple of others like the Pub Thread were 2005 but were deleted because they got too long. Although the Arsenal Chit Chat was removed for that reason so a new one was begun but the 2 threads have since been merged .Odd that they only did it with that one thread.

The first thread ever on chit chat was 'what is your favourite toothpaste' about 10 years ago started by Nashwan if anyone remembers him he seems to have gone a.w.o.l. I said Colgate and still stand by that decision.

Does anyone ever think back to a milestone birthday or an event in the past, think of how old you were at the time, deduct it from your present age and add the result to your current age? Fkin frightening, particularly as the event you were recalling seems not too long ago.

Sometimes I sit in the garden smoking a cigar and wonder where all the years went Shocked

I remember the day my gran died 48 years ago like it was yesterday, same for my dad and grandad who both went in 1977. Sad

44 years since I left school and started work Sad

3 marriages down the drain before I was 30...

I recall being able to float like a butterfly and do the Ali shuffle, I just shuffle now. Sad

I still greet my daughters with 'hello baby' on the phone. They're 27 and 29. Laugh

I've enjoyed my life though, but it's all downhill from now to the cemetery. Cool
