About time...!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12005930

The founder of whistle-blowing website Wikileaks, Julian Assange, has been granted conditional bail by a judge.

The 39-year-old was granted bail in London earlier this week but prosecutors objected to the decision and he remained in jail.

The Australian is fighting extradition to Sweden over sex charges involving two women. He denies the allegations.

Mr Justice Ouseley granted conditional bail at the Royal Courts of Justice and supporters put up £240,000 in sureties.

Earlier, the judge made a ruling banning the use of Twitter to give a blow-by-blow account of Thursday's proceedings.

The ruling was made just before 1300 GMT but it is understood it may take up an hour to process his release paperwork.

What an unbelievable piece of luck on behalf of the CIA, FBI and MI5 for e.g to find a women who just so happens to have a sexual complaint to be filed against the one man responsible for showing up these organisations for the lying, cheating, murdering underhand scum they are.

What I don't understand is why the CPS was so keen on him not getting bail when the Swedish authorities were'nt bothered.

this is important stuff : something of a victory for justice. A stitch-up was fully underway here, the Americans may well get thier hands on him yet. They need to string someone up for embarrasing them,  bad losers or what

yeah, i'm sure your right there Leop.
Actually i'm not sure it was'nt him refusing to be interrupted, and why should he, but it is a journalistic convention that you won't be allowed to finish a sentence if it seems to be taking > 30secs

Assange now cut all ties with the Guardian newspaper because they leaked reports from Swedish police that there were no 'honeytraps' from the CIA/FBI.

www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/dec/17/julian-assange-sweden

He now disapproves of all leaked information apart from his website of course. Meanwhile Assange will next try to rob a bank and see if the can put the blame on the American secret service. The world is his oyster now he is seen as the saviour of the human race.

Watch the luvvies run a mile when he gets convicted of sundry sex crimes.

Can't say I get quite as excited about diplomatic tittle-tattle as the Guardian/ BBC/ etc get.

Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.
