Presumably this is the "without 'Sorry' starring Ronnie Corbett" market.
That show makes the rest look like Fawlty Towers. Competition void, all bets refunded surely? |

I wonder what would cause the greater media outrage?
Something like Two Pints of Lager or Little Britain shown as a new comedy in 1973, or Love thy Neighbour being shown for the first time in 2010? |

Not seen quite a few of these, but the standard is abysmal "(BBC2 answer to Desmonds)" I can't imagine
For me Bread is the benchmark though. Not only is it not funny, it's self-righteous and sanctimonious I absolutely loathed Shelley, so despite not seeing The Nineteenth hole, I find it hard to believe it was worse than Shelley (unless is was written by Carla Lane in which case - I'll defer judgement) Take a letter Mr Jones (John Inman) v Fresh/French Fields DK Shane (Frank Skinner) V Duty Free( Keith Barron) DK Yus My Dear v Orrible (Johnny Vaughan) All about me (Jasper Carrott thing) v Father Dear Father DK My Family v Yes Honestly Brighton Belles v Plaza Patrol Green Green Grass v Three up Two Down (Michael Elphick) Never the Twain v Only when I laugh Elephant and Castle (Jim Davison) v No Problem (BBC2 answer to Desmonds) Nearest and Dearest v Mind Your Language Grace and Favour v Dont Wait up (Nigel Havers) DK Slingers Day (Bruce Forsyth) v Oh Dr Beeching (HI de Hi follow up) Keep it in the Family v Twos Company (Donald Sinden) DK Love thy Neighbour v Come back mrs Noah (Molllie Sugden) DK Home James (Jim Davison) v On the Buses In Loving Memory (Thora Hird) v You rang M’Lord (Another Hi de Hi follow up) Dont Drink the Water (Blakey/Pat Combs) v L for Lester ( Brian Murphy) DK Bread v Terry and June Last of the Summer Wine v The Bottle Boys DK Big Top (Amanda Holden Circus thing) v May 2 December DK Sink or Swim (Peter Davidson) v After Henry (Prunella Scales) The Gaffer v Kit Curran Radio Show DK Lame Ducks v Spring and Autumn DK Girls on top (Big cast, dire script) v Roll over Beethover (Nigel Planer,Liza Goddard) DK Babes in the wood v Nightingales DK Selwyn Froggatt v The Fosters (Lenny Henry) DK Hippies (Simon Pegg) v The River (David Essex) DK Home to Roost (john Thaw) V George & The Dragon (Peggy Mount) DK Mulberry v A Fine Romance DK A Present for Dickie v Kiss me Kate DK The Nineteenth hole v Shelley Me and My Girl (Richard o sullivan) v On the Up |
