Touch wood - the peat fire will probably kill you through CO poisoning. You know things only look up so they can cast you down even further.
Oh wait. I'm supposed to be cheerful. You'll probably burn to death before the CO kicks in. |

I have given up smoking for 28 days now. I can afford the CO2; in fact I'm getting a kick from it.

Bodil, I've been in a very reflective mood today, but your post is the first thing that has made me laugh!
You really are a daft old 'nana! |

CO, not CO2 - incomplete combustion. It will turn you a gay shade of pink though. Always look for the silver lining.
Good going on the non-smoking - presumably you are compensating by drinking more? |

I went pink with CO2 poisoning once.
The paramedics wanted to take me to hospital, but I declined their offer. Had to fill in a yellow waiver form. |

CO - not CO2. Though your post does confuse me slightly, TT. Come to think of it....

Ha ha! Well, whatever the bleedin' number is or isn't - I had carbon monoxide poisoning.

bodil - I am now. I went to Libya for a week and a half where alcohol is nowhere to be seen. I decided to give up smoking at the same time, following the logic that I was going to be f*cking miserable any how.

Yes you did. Obviously your body was able to replace carboxyhaemoglobin before you suffered brain damage.
Yes, obviously. |

Not quite before.

CO, Carbon Monoxide
CO2, Carbon Dioxide Doesn't matter both will kill you eventually. |
