You reply to a thread, and it appears below one post. Then you refresh the thread and suddenly there are two or three other posts before yours that weren't there when you first posted. What's that all about?

This sort of thread and the SEEDS are the only things keeping this forum afloat.

When you posted on the old forum you didn't have the advantage of knowing that posts were potentially 'beating' yours after the last one you saw, before pressing reply. As with the old forum, it's only really YOU who knows that it's 'happened' to your posts.

Pressing refresh after you've submitted isn't too big an ask imo, although I agree it's an irk we'd all like to see the end of.

If you really want to prevent it happening: copy your post when it's finished, refresh, then if all's in order iyo, reply, paste, submit.

VQ, I've tried that (pressing refresh before I post) but it's only when I go away from the thread I'm posting on and come back to it again that I can see all previous replies. I can sometimes see the one just before mine, but not if there's been two or more.
It really is quite bizarre.

Yep. You're both right.

Refreshing does work and is a minor inconvenience, but refreshing after you've just posted doesn't make new posts immediately prior to yours appear. Leaving the thread and returning is the only way to be sure you haven't missed something.

It can make you look like a total t1t sometimes if your posting is out of sync, depending on how far the thread has progressed.

I rarely post on CC anymore(praise the Lord I hear the Old faithful say)
But imo it's the best way of killing a an hour or so when you have sweet Nada to do at work)
I think it's good at lot of them have hung around, and rather surprisingly they appear to be a rather intelligent bunch(don't tell them I said that)
