I love Michael Stipe's voice myself, he could sing something quite ridiculous, let's say for example, about pushing an elephant up some stairs... and I'd still like it.

TWP's song, Skin Diving, is lovely too. Imo of course, but then , like crags about Stipe, I think the same about la Gedge

I like REM, but that sounds rather tuneless. Maybe it needs listening to a few times.

amazing song, and it's from one of the best albums from the 90's

I was a big REM fan before they switched labels & entered radio friendly unit shifting world.

Nice song though it is,it's tempered somhwhat by Stipe once mentioning that it was about sneaking off for a nude swim and bumming seshion with his one time lover.

Some class tracks over the years but surely their best stuff was pre or immediately post document.

I still rate it top three of all Stipe's body of work.

had the benefit of listening to REM while i was sitting in my back garden  when they were playing live  down the road

its a small masterpiece, if you don`t like it the fault is with you and not the song.

Really like Nightswimming, and Automatic was a great album - personal favourite is Half a World Away from Out of Time

Love REM but one of the most insipid and self indulgent songs they have produced.

Prefer their edgier tunes.
