The oft asked question.
After spending a week (work and "pleasure") in the smoke,it never fails to amaze me how sh1te even the "good" areas look.
I'm guessing to a point it's the buildings themselves,and as for some of the areas in North London like Neasden nr Wembley and an area called Stonebrige? we're basically talking 3rd world hellhole.
Then again on the other side of North London i'm in Islingtom sipping white wine on a pavement table being served delicious food by attentive snake hipped homosexuals.
Then down the road i'm at Finsbury park back in the 3rd world.In fact though i wouldnt say that area is threating in any way i can safely say i was in a tiny minority of white people.
Then again on the plus where can you get parks like Hyde park?History like Highgate Cemetry,The Inns of Court,The Tower of London and the ALWAYS stupendous Westminster Abbey.Convent Garden also one of my fav places and some proper pubs there to.
At it's worst its right up there with the worlds hellholes (not quite Moghodishi(though close in Wembley!)but at it's best i think on a good day it is indeed one of the BEST.

It has some nice architecture (not just the big names like st pauls etc) and a certain mixture of cultures and area which can be quite interesting. I also like the fact that is was never centrally planned in the main (especially the City area).
However places like Hyde Park are vastly overated as you will find at least 50 parks in England better andits only because Londoners are so grateful for a bit of grass they go over the top about it and the other London parks

Good call re: the parks,i guess as its so overbuilt you do sort of think that Hyde park etc are "wonderfull" the Park down the rd from me in manchesterm(heaton park) to be fair walks all over Hyde
I'm rather interested in this Convent Garden you mentioned. 
in a few years time, old London Town will actually become a new country, the street names will be written in 30 different languages to accommodate the newcomers and a new plague will hit it which will be unstoppable, hopefully. cheers.
Mainly a dirty place full of dirty people(Im currently living in Acton,this is one of these places).Yet other parts are full of life,nice pubs and restaurants,beautiful women from all over the globe(used to live in Westbourne Grove,this being one of these places).So I would say 80 percent plus depressing stack of turd,20 odd percent sublime

Must say your name evokes one of the finest athletics races of all time with Rod Dixon,Quax and that filthy bloodt doping Viren all eyes balls out charging for the line,500Om Montreal i think,also some big kraut dived over the line int he same race i think

I think on a hot summers day in some of the "nice areas" it is indeed right up their with the best.
Though about a year ago i'd had a cracking day in the smoke,took a bird to this nice caf on the serpentine and on a nice boat trip then awalk down the embankment,followed by cocktails at the hotel and some supreme(though i say so myself)rogering.So all in all that day London was 100%
HOWEVER
The next day i had to go to Streatham and my abiding memory was of a large dead dog in the road,which then moved into a doorway,was later wrapped up in a carpet in another doorway and the last i saw of it it was headless outside a boozer on the high street....though the surrounding area was very much in tune with the dead dog..so 2 sides i guess.

As a 56-year-old Londoner I could wax lyrical about London's 350 "Villages" ad nauseum, but its fine during the day in most places and most people are fine if you break the ice first .
Often the most "screwface" of people can be friendly but it really is the old standard joke now that even if you do see a fellow White in many areas they are only 30% likely to speak English.
That side of it has become laughable.
I'm afraid nearly every weird/bad experience has involved Members of the same Black Community though the majority are fine but I can honestly say that without them I would hardly ever have seen a problem in all my years.
