I will hold it on Nibbsy's all singing all dancing new quiz forum if anyone is interested please register your interest on here for a free point.  The number of questions is uncertain as yet but it willbe a minimum of 20.  The more interest shown, the more questions there are likely to be - the scoring system will also be amended to suit.  First time i've hosted (or even taken part in) a quiz on the new forum so at some point I'll have to giveit a trial run.  Any hints or tips about it gratefully received.

So please register your interest on this thread.

It is too slow on here crags.

UTI, It's quite speedy for me so I'd have a good chance of some points.

Well unfortunately you're the only one here who doesn't seem to suffer from lack of speed.  It just isn't conducive to quizzing at all anymore, which is a shame.

I don't think many people are having trouble with slow speed now Confused

Anyway, good luck with your quiz.

Refresh speed on old forum = 3 times per second
Refresh speed on new forum = once per 3 seconds minimum

Crags - you're just making a complete fool of yourself.

Nah, refresh is quick enough to do a quiz on here no problem at all. All the moaners are the ones who are making fools of themselves. Same as the start of the last new forum.

Nope. The refresh is nowhere near fast enough. Nor is the time it takes to submit a reply. And the space bar still doesn't work for refeshing.

Therefore no good yet for quizzing. Hence having to use a different forum for it. No choice.

It is a little sluggish, but I'd suggest nowhere near as bad as some are making out.

yes it is slower on here but as a slower typer than many the " new place " which is even quicker than before on here means I am even further down the pcking order if thats possible !

the new forum nibbs set up means you do not need to refresh for each post far better
By:

I don't know the scoring system tonight pumpy, but I'm sure slower typists can be accommodated somehow.  The speed of the new place means time ups can be quicker than ever, and googling is almost impossible.

Im looking at 40 questions atm.

90 minutes to go

I am not complaining about the new forum just that this one is not as bad as some are making out now.

Genuine question - were you involved in the set up of this new forum?

Which part of that don't you understand crags?

Let me know and I'll try and explain it in words of one sillybubble for you.

15 or 20 sec for a time up is fine its just if your not the quicket typer you have very little chance on most quizzes, but saying that I am no more than average on GK, some on here are really up to mastermind standard.

UTI, No- not in any way, shape or form.

But I do think that people who have enjoyed spending time on here, and indeed some who have made friends, gained employment and even met their partner...should show some loyalty to the forum and give betfair time to get it right. They are nearly there now. IMO.

Perhaps I'll do a 3-2-1-1-1-1-1-1 scoring system tonight - with quick timeups.  Could even do 1-1-1-1-1-etc, but that does allow copiers even with a quick time up.

Or I could even try Nirvana's ski jump scoring system.

Well Crags, people have not left for good as far as I know.  I and many others still use it a lot.  But I'm afraid it is simply no good for quizzers and there was/is a massive quizzing community here (as you may have noticed).  It would be a real shame if there is a mass exodus, and quizzing aside there is no real reason.  Speed IS the main reason.  If a lone forumite (allbeit a very technically capable IT person) such as Nibbs can organise a free forum within days of this one falling below standard, then surely betfair should be capableof doing the same with their budget.  It is almost a month now.
