Stephen Creswell Timms (born 29 July 1955) is a British Labour politician, who has been the Member of Parliament for East Ham since 1994. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Labour Party, with particular responsibility for faith groups. Timms was the Financial Secretary to the Treasury between 1999 and 2001, 2004 and 2005 and again between 2008 and 2010. Timms has the largest majority out of all the Members of Parliament.
Stephen Timms was stabbed in the stomach at a constituency event at a community centre in East London and hospitalised on 14 May 2010. His injuries were reported as not life threatening.[1]
