both at home and at work now, it keeps interupted my internet provider, trying to get me to sign in via them. Crashes the sites I am on and costs me time. I am seriously thinking of suing the bast*rds.

I can't be alone in this, can I?

Somewhere in your network settings you may have 'Automatically Connect' ticked for a BT-Openzone wifi connection, so try unticking that (or remove the network connection altogether)
