These n0bs walking round with dangerous looking dogs are the saddest of the sad and the lowest of the low. Great pity they have nothing else to advertise about themselves to the world.

Apparently he was a responsible owner in most respects. They always say that. It is such a simple fkin rule - don't leave a dog alone with a child thatis too young to look after itself. EVER. Really isn't fkin rocket science. |

Their are certain breeds that i am scared of and im nearly 40 but you see them all the time with certain owners at the leash.
The sadness of the story(apart from the young death) is that nothing has changed in the last 10 years. |

The breed has nothing to do with it imho. Kids and dogs do not go well together Utter tosh Joe I'm afraid. The breed has everything to do with it. Some dogs are large and powerful and are naturally agressive. Some aren't. Would you rather fight off an American Bull Dog or King Charles Spaniel? |

my sisters got a labrador/collie cross. A lovely, not too big, nice mannered thing. Just as delightful a dog asyou could imagin. I was looking after her 10 month old son ( my nephew) the other day and I was letting him stroke the dog. In one split second when I wasn't paying attention my nephew kind of leant on the dog in a tender area somewhere around the guts with the dog lying on her back. The dog growled and snapped quite agressively at my nephew - Not to bite, but aggressively to warn him off.
That is dogs, and that is children imo. You never know what a 2yo kid might do - thy might pull its ears or tug its tail or poke its eyes. There are not many dogs that will not react to that. I don't care how mild mannered your dog is, I think it is stark raving mad to leave a dog unsupervised with v.young children. |

Of course the breed is relevant. How many of these kids that have died have been attacked by dogs not in the "dangerous dogs" group? Not a single one I'll wager. |

If you choose to have children you should put off having a dog in the family until the children are at least teenagers.

Not a single one I'll wager. Never mind how many have died, how many have been bitten? Probably thousands. Dogs are dangerous. Pleasant to have around, I grant you, but dangerous. You wouldn't leave a small kid alone with scissors or a bottle of scotch, why do it with a dog? |

All the dogs i grew up with couldnt harm me. Spaniels could actually bring up children on their own, but that doesnt stop the bull terriers..... |

The WRONG number!. Any family can have a dog, although whatever the breed, they shouldn't be left alone with a baby or toddler, or an older child if they are a dangerous breed.

Don't they, yes it is very sad indeed but people today imo have very little idea when teaching children about dogs or other animals,children should always be made to understand that you never tease or annoy dogs they can and do go very well together,we have now 3 dogs as pets both my children take them for walks and play with then they are 7 and 5 years old,but they both know to respect the dogs and also all the dogs know the children are the boss. |
