anybody know what the point of wasps are?

are they on this earth solely to ruin summer for people. can't sit and enjoy a pint outside the pub once you know there's a wasp hanging about, they ruin barbecues, and picnics, and lots of outdoor activites.

worst insect ever.

if we are talking of pointless animals - please add goldfish to the list. Even the pikeys give them away.

A bee at least has the decency to rip it's own arse out when it stings you, a wasp just keeps coming back for more.

yeah but bees make honey and pollenate flowers

wasps don't do that.

they don't do anything, they're just b'stards

They help pollinate our plants which give us our food. They are an essential part of the food chain.

They also kill and eat smaller flies and pests like blue bottles.

A very underrated animal imo

wasps can't pollenate plants because their bodies are hard and made of a sort of shell

the bees body is hairy so the pollen collects on its fur and then transfers from plant to plant

Never trust anything with stripes imo.

Wasps, Zebras, Frenchman, Sailors and Geordies for a kick off.

Wasps take nectar and they do pollinate plants. Just not as much as bees.

Wasps also feed on other animals as well as plants, but they do play in a role in pollinating planst.

They also take care of many worse pests out there.

I read that Wasps don't actually provide any good for the planet. one of the very few species that have absolutely no purpose.

Some real waspists on here. Turns out that there are some plants that rely solely on wasps to pollinate them. :)

*They're probably invasive weeds and dandelions though.

once i was getting out the shower, and i thought i heard a wasp so i was on edge instantly.
then i seen it flying from one side of the bathroom towards the window, so i just ran out the bathroom without getting dried and i fell over in the process while i was still unclothed. total nightmare
