Seems to be the subject of the latest Chit Chat witch hunt. There are far more deserving targets imo.

Over-exposure.........do it at your peril...

Wrote and starred in a very good sitcom and thought he was god's gift to light entertainment - a shame.
I never watched Gavin and Stacey when it was on telly as I had made up my mind it would be rubbish, but I've rented it on DVD and it's actually the best sitcom for ages imho. |
By:
Not a massive fan of his, but thought compared to a lot of recent comedies the first series of G and S was good, and of course he co-wrote it too. I just don't like sheep mentality bandwagoners without the basic intelligence to form a reasoned opinion of their own, and the anti Corden express seems to be the latest to be gathering undeserved momentum.

By:
I suspect you've never heard him interviewed on the radio then.
I have never heard anyone more obnoxiously self-satisfied. Perfectly happy to say that Gavin and Stacey is good, but that doesn't stop him being a pr!ck. |
By:
HM - not heard him on radio, but has come across that way on tv. You could level that accusation at plenty of others too though. My point isn't that he is/isn't a twunt - just that in a current good old Joe Public straw poll of loathing he would beat Robert Mugabe hands down, which seems a little harsh.
By:
If the sketch-show "Horne and Mugabe" was even a tenth as piiss poor as "Horne and Corden" Bob's image would still have been tarnished by it.

By:
The southern man's johnny vegas imo
By:
both unfunny
By:
Corden's not that bad..just seems to be everywhere. The sketch show was truly awful but he's fine as this kind of family friendly harmless fat man.I imagine he's quite popular with kids, gayers and men who paint their faces at football matches.
Bit of a one trick pony but you cant blame him for making hay while the sun shines. |
By:
think i would agree with bonviv there, i thought gavin and stacey was great, but as some one said, over exposure can be a person's downfall, he seems alright on the new show league of their own, but doesn't seem to have the comedy personality to carry the show, imo.
By:
I think he's ok. To me he just comes over as overenthusiastic, but hey what's wrong with that?
By:
" The southern man's johnny vegas imo"
good way to describe him ! although he was very good as the drummer in that film Telstar. |

A source said: 'It is undoubtedly the single funniest scene ever filmed for Sport Relief or Comic Relief. Forget comedy gold - this is comedy platinum.' Yeah, I bet. |

By:
awful , nothing can redeem him for the dross that was Horne and Corden
By:
Dragged down by the unfunny and completeley untalented Matthew Horne

who is he ?

Once the honeymoon period wears off, the british public hates anyone with confidence who does well . Nothing wrong with him in my opinion.

Seems to be the Forum target atm
certainly not bad enough to be that ^ |
By:
him and his fake laugh...that's so cool.
there will be a a tax dodge somewhere too. |
By:
amazingly successful over the pond, didn't think he would be, he's more loved over there than he is here, don't get him myself, seems away with the fairies somewhat, probably why the American's can relate him so easily.

h1tler wasn't honest, you have to be sane to be honest.
By:
he honestly wanted to kill everyone he met.
By:
can i have odds that Patrick Stewart will one day kill him? He's waiting till everybody forgets about their kerfuffle. He's biding his time and building a bear pit for him.

Stewart Lee on James Corden...
"Britains loss is Americas loss also" |
By:
corden is so unfunny
By:
Nothing wrong with Corden, very funny young man with a good sense of humour and reason,he has done phenomenally well to break America and comes across as totally loving what he does and gets involved in. Good luck to him.

clarkson are you a relative?
He's like a limpet on a whale's a rse. |
By:
Pub Geezer
By:
He's not very funny at all.
But he seems very genuine and down to earth so pleased to seem him do so well for himself over there. |
By:
please - he's so buoyant, it's a put on. bet he takes Prozac.
he's famous by association. like parky. seen with famous people. typical Corden.... in Morrisons. granny steps up to counter and asks for chedder cheese block. James steps up and let's granny know she's so right in buying that cheese. "I was brought up on cheddar, it's so so the best. love you granny. give me a high five". he's the kind of guy that would be in Henry the eighth's court for a year, then he'd end up in the tower, eventually get the chop. |
By:
Can be annoying and immediately stir up some irrational dislike. However, The Wrong Mans was excellent and he was excellent in it.
Also, well done to him for taking a big risk, going to the States where he's unknown and doing a pretty good job of it by all accounts. To be applauded frankly. |
By:
Not a relative Zorro, just seeing something completely different to you

Stood next to him on the London Underground and of course my initial reaction was surprise. So I looked at him and he looked at me at which point I avoided his gaze. He carried on glaring at me and it wasn't until I turned to my nephew to speak to him that he turned his gaze away from me. I found it a little bit unnerving to be honest. But he got off at the next stop and that was the end of that.

By:
zorrostrikes - I have it on good authority that Stewart and Corden made up after THAT TV incident and don't have a problem with each other anymore. It seems on the night in question that Stewart had quite a bit to drink and Corden made some comment to him off camera and Stewart then had a go at Corden ON camera. The whole thing was rather embarrassing, but it was sorted out between them a few weeks later.
