takes more heat/time to warm them up

It's cause they think sitting in a sauna until they die will lose them weight ... not going to happen though

They're to lazy to get up
Report bodil • March 16, 2010 8:10 PM GMT
The bacteria that have taken over their body prefer heat. Nothing is as it seems.

Fat people are often quite tough. I've seen many a hardnut pick a fight with a fat lad and live to regret it.

Didn't know we have mixed saunas in the UK. Been a while since I've used one, mind.
Report rob_dylan • March 17, 2016 10:57 AM GMT
I've recently joined David Lloyds and they've got a sauna.  are they worth it?  What is the point in sitting in blazing heat sweating your gonads off?  You don't lose weight do you?  And all this cleansing your body of toxins b.ollox, that's just, well, b.ollox ain't it.  If there are benefits then I might do it.

So why serious questions about Fat people, why not Thin people?

Julius Caesar had the right idea 'Let me have men about me that are fat'

It was the thin ones that did for him especially Cassius

I am also slightly vulnerable myself here, although I am not a real Roly Poly, I don't do super fat

Could be wrong (often am) but without research I would think that being surrounded by fat (no nerve endings) will mean that they are insulated against heat and cold.

Think of cross channel swimmers, and the like, who cover themselves in "blubber" to keep warm.

So the fat is an insulant against extremes of temperature!
Report jollyswagman • March 17, 2016 4:44 PM GMT
i believe auntypost is correct. i recently watched a film (based on a true story) about a rather rotund icelandic fisherman who survived for six hours after his boat sank, he actually swam back to the mainland. he should have died in half an hour max. he underwent some medical tests and they determined he had twice as much fat as the average person, he was nicknamed the human seal.
Report ebulGery • March 17, 2016 8:13 PM GMT
It seems we need a good layer of blubber in cold places..we can only be thin if we stay in the warm

I don't agree with all this stomach loss surgery...there is an easy cure for fatness..eat less and exercise more
unless we are physically disabled in some manner have medication problems.
and my own fat is hardly an attractive site...but at my age it matters little

I wonder if Shakespeare was a little overweight, he put that line in his play as some justification?
I don't think he saw Falstaff as thin either
He is on the side of us fattiesLaugh

Sorry Gery, all in good fun. A bit of "weight" can be quite attractive according to Mrs F.
Report Clouseau • March 17, 2016 9:29 PM GMT
The reason fat people are always in saunas is because of the way the sauna doors are built... a bit like a lobster trap. They can squeeze in but they can't squeeze out.Mischief

Fat is an insulator not a heat generator. This is a rephrasing of "how do thermos flasks work, they keep hot things hot and cold things cold"!
