Didn't anyone actually do anything romantic with their wives or girlfriends? In the last week there has been hundreds of posts about valentines day, but hardly any romantic ones. I do not believe men are at all romantic, except in a new relationship to get your knickers off :p

See, Burt, it is easy to please a woman. I love flowers and most women do. :)

However, you would get a better impact if you sent them to her in a lovely bouquet than buying them cheap at a local petrol station. Next year falls on a Monday so try to send a bouquet to her at home. It is all that cellophane and ribbons, makes it feel special. It does not have to be an expensive one either, it is the thought that counts.

Come to think of it, sending a proper bouquet to someone you know is at home to receive it is a good idea anytime of the year. But do not send when you have been a ratbag, she may think that is a cheap way to mend arguments. Send when she has done something extra special for you etc.

However, do not send to a new girlfriend or prospective one. There is a fine dividing line between being romantic and being soppy and it can put women off. It might not, but I would not risk it.

Sorry, Burt, I did not mean you and the cheap flowers. I just meant the men on here in general.

My efforts yesterday were pretty romantic - I legged it to Sainsbury's in the snow yesterday morning to quickly get a card having found out she had left one for me when she went out yesterday morning, despite me telling her numerous times "let's not bother this year...again".

Managed to get back and parked in exactly the same spot again before she got home, then convinced her I bought her card a week or so ago.
