Have had a look around and can get flights for around £300 with Delta, Virgin and B.A, can anyone recommend one firm over the others ? Haven't looked into accommodation yet but would welcome any ideas on this front as well. Thanks.

Delta are a bit old and shabby, and that's just the cabin crew. It seems the trolley dollys move to Delta just before retirement. Plus I don't think you get the free drinks etc.

I believe Virgin are the best to fly with on that route these days.

As for a hotel, I've stayed in four and Hotel Thirty Thirty was the best at a very resonable price!

A great hidden gem, superb looking hotel inside and out.

Name based on it's address, 30 East 30th Street .

Steer clear of Delta, some of their planes on that route don't even have seat-back videos!!

Avoid Delta,a pretty grubby old set up.Though BA aint what they used to be by some way,i still tend to pick them if there's no large price diff.

When you say reasonably priced I was hoping for around £80 to £100 a night. Thanks for the info though.

Wasn´t it Delta that got mentioned in a Michael Moore file because most of their ilots had to clain income support because wages were so low? I think they were paid $25k pa. Think I would rather fly with a company where the pilot isn´t thinking about how to pay the bills...

Wouldn't worry too much about looking for I top quality hotel. I've been there a few times and stayed in a range of hotels. Most of the rooms were all the same whatever the price was. Hardly spent any time in the room anyway.

Its very very cold this time of year.

It's all garbage in cattle class.

Treat yourself to business. Don't tell the wife/kids or they'll want to join you.

Virgin are the best.

Have a look at www.booking.com - loads of good deals if you go in Feb

$500 plus tax for 3 nights at the Royalton is a bargain. (usually $500 a night in peak periods)
