F^CK ME. really fed up tonight. was playing around bored trying to skim £20 off Arsenal-Everton market. Anyway my wife says lets pop out for an hour. Got back realised I'd left a £1,000 up on Arsenal. Didn't even fancy them just playing the odds. Anyway, on getting back and finding out what I'd done and that Arsenal were losing I managed to take my medicine it cost me £700. Having a few beer to numb my mind and forget my error. Bad luck or what?

its bad luck cos he could have got in and they were winning.

i had something similar once where i backed david villa to be top scorer in the euros, put up a lay at much lower odds thinking it might go too low if he scored. i went out expecting to get back around kickoff but the bus didnt turn up. by the time i got home he had scored twice and obviously my lay had been gobbled up and the price was a hell of a lot lower. someone got a massive gift cos of that bus not turning up, around 2k of my profit wasted.

greed costs in the longterm mate

my worst nightmare was when i traded an arsenal match (used to trade the day/night before the match) ..
I layed Bolton for 7.5k .. planning to trade out all green (would've worked-normally did)
It was an early kick off 12.30 and i simply slept in (knackered) i tuned in about 20 mins late and arsenal were 0-1 down :(
I simply sat staring at the screen for almost an hour .. wishing them to score to take a small loss
In the end i almost accepted a huge loss and backed the draw heavy --- they equalised in the 84th minute
I couldn't lay off quick enough & lost about £500 --a right royal result :|

I did similar once on an Inter match .. they played every sunday .. but was before christmas and played on the saturday .. i didn't even realise they were playing !!!!!!

Report geordie1404 • January 9, 2010 5:50 PM GMT

Report Mc Moonbeam • January 9, 2010 5:53 PM GMT
I knew the KO time !

But snoozing is a dangerous thing :(

Report geordie1404 • January 9, 2010 5:54 PM GMT

Report Mc Moonbeam • January 9, 2010 5:57 PM GMT
that's the point though ..

if you do it all the time you're gonna slip up once .. and once is enough
Report naydam • January 9, 2010 6:01 PM GMT

Report Mc Moonbeam • January 9, 2010 6:04 PM GMT

Report Jimbo747 • January 9, 2010 6:04 PM GMT
Naydam didn't realise you could take other peoples money

One should appreciate that losing is always a possibility. If you can't lose...you can't win.
