Will this once great nation that stood alone against the might of Hitler EVER reclaim the bulldog spirt of "head down get on with it"?when faced with some minor adversity

I think the answer is a resounding NO.Seemingly half the nation (or certainly the public sector-quelle suprise!) have taken the day off "due to the snow" schools, colleges and nurserys closed, transport on it's knees,"councils conserving grit" and as usual our massive post office has a notice "due to adverse weather etc etc" (its a crown office to the bunch of f@ckin w@nkers!!)

Took kid to nursery and there's some f'ckin mumsy all warpped up in hat coat and scarf (inside the hot nursery!) informing me "noone will be coming in today love"!WTF!....sure we've ahd about 6" but come on...

Seems the whole nation has turned into F@ckin Graham Norton!half the country's been snowed up for 3 weeks now and everyones managed ok..i can only presume the weather has now affected some luvvies or god forbid "the south"

I'm SEETHING

Teachers have been off for a fortnight, done a day's work, and now they need a few more days off.

Is Graham Norton particularly affected by bad weather?
Report BonViv • January 5, 2010 8:34 AM GMT
I believe so Orioles as he was quoted as "i've had 8" here and this after 7" last week"

Or alternatively ask the USA to help us out.

**phobia and comedy. A warm feeling of hate on a cold day!

I hope you're passing on this wisdom to your young, impressionable charge.

Ineed Orioles! though come on you did bowl a very gentle "village green" half volley!
Report JamesBlakesHugeArse • January 5, 2010 8:44 AM GMT
enough warmth through hate here to melt the entire sheet of ice engulfing the nation
Report orioles • January 5, 2010 8:45 AM GMT
True, BV and I must confess, my sympathy for Graham Norton is pretty half-hearted!
Report BonViv • January 5, 2010 8:49 AM GMT
I'll not dwell on Norton but If the late great Larry Grayson isn't spinning in his grave at GN'S attempts at being "very camp and funny" i'd be dissapointed!

Report donemyconkers • January 5, 2010 10:15 AM GMT
Surely in the 40's the majority of people didnt rely on having to do an hours commute to work everyday and worked within walking distance of their office/factory etc ?
