Lack of God stuff at a funeral has to be a bonus - when your nearest and dearest die and some old fool is up there saying "..and she liked the smell of flowers" etc then singing a load of old crap in an empty church isnt particularly life-affirming

YorkUltra, my dad dies a few months back and I gotta say that the fact I believe I will see him again made / makes it somewhat bearable(am Catholic, but by no way devout or a zealot). I see where you are coming from on feeling uncomfortable on the lack of religion at the funeral.
a coincidance - he was a York City fan also!! |

My friend was a Humanist or perhaps a new religion a Humourist ,
his last song after he had been cremated ,was Queen, Another one Bites the Dust :^0 As the crematorium was more like a conveyor belt, it had 2 wings all fully booked on the monday morning we were there ,the song was most suitable ... |

There are no gods of course, but obviously the funeral had a effect on you emotionally. My advice would be to let the dust settle for a while and then see how you feel - you may return to your normal self.
If after say a couple of weeks you still feel the same way, then try a few local church services out (shop around) until you feel comfortable. If non of them seem to fit, you could always try starting your own religion! |

Why do you feel you need a religion ?
Try to simply live your life to a moral standard based on your own values and accept the wonders of the universe in which you exist ... hth ... :o) |

Become a freemason - it's not a religion, but it does provide a moral framework and you are required to belief in a Supreme Being.

Before you decide- consider the following:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able, and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? |
