... totally ignored what Kay Burley was asking him and clumsily contrived a way to mention Gordon Brown's performance at Prime Minister's question time NINE times!

Sean Woodward had previously brought the subject up three times in as many minutes, yet again with complete disregard of the questions put to him.

Obviously there has been a directive to all labour MPs to make as much mileage out of today's PMQs as possible, but they're taking it to a level that is ridiculous and makes them look like gibbering fools.

And goodness knows why because the truth is, of course, both Brown and Cameron were an embarrassment today in parliament; truly awful.

Ed Balls is married to Yvette Cooper, who employs a similar interview style i.e. brick wall ignorance of the question, trot out party line.

What must their kitchen table conversations be like?

Mr Balls: Did you put the cat out love?

Mrs Balls: This household has doubled its spend on cat food and grooming products year on year in real terms.

Mr B: Yes but did you put the cat out.
